Vertical City by LiamLime

Vertical City is a tower building game, similar in preesentation to SimTower or Project Highrise. In it you build your tower in any (sane) shape and then fill it with elevators, offices, homes and leisure places.
The game is controlled with the mouse. Click-drag to move and scroll to zoom. Additional instructions are provided in game.

The visuals are quite nice and clean. The person sprite might need a bit more work ;) Adding parallax scrolling for the background city could be a nice touch.
Ran into few weird and random issues. At first I got stuck and couldn't build past the third floor but then at some point clicking there started registering again and managed to build more. And right now I can't build anything else besides homes. The buttons for other stuff aren't focusing, I think something invisible is on top of them preventing the click events. Might actually be the same issue that was blocking me from building the fourth floor first.
This felt like a pretty solid tech demo, rather than a game - all the core mechanics are there, but they didn't really go anywhere, if that makes sense. Getting the rent wrong didn't seem to have any consequences, there was nothing to unlock, etc... though isn't that how every LD game ends up?
I did appreciate that there was some good freedom in how to build your tower. More than SimTower gave, at least!
I loved SimTower and this is really impressive for 48 hours. If you continue developing this, I am definitely interested :)
I really liked your intro :)
One thing that kind confused me at the start as others have said, i wasn't expecting my houses to build up after time, also what i didn't get was why a shop for example was only taking one tile? i would have expected it to take on all columns the preview was overlayed on? I think a tutorial to your game would be great if you continue to develop it :)
Otherwise solid entry for the available time, with some more polish that could become an interesting game :)
