The Day Of The Chosen by sahoskins1
Text based jam submission. Multiple endings. The darker the choices you pick, the darker the story gets. This is my first completed entry since 2013 so this is a bit of a milestone for me. Nothing amazing but it works and it's done so I'm happy.

I liked the story and the development, also that the meaner and darker your choices are, the quicker the whole story deviates from normality. Very well done!
I made two runs with different options and I'm glad to discover another story.
I got surprised when I saw my health points for the first time. It really got me out of the immersion, I was living a story, thinking about what was happening, imagining some environment in my head, and then you came with some video game statistics I never expected to be here. Not sure about that, it really broke the immersion and you could've simply write something like "you got hurt". That is the worst point of the game, it's really immersive but suddenly this comes and destroys the nice build up...
That's what I wanted to say, but keep in mind that text games aren't not my favorite genre, so my feedback might be pretty harsh but it's only my personal opinion ! I liked the story and the colors and font, simple but very efficient ! Maybe some audio could help ? No music, but some atmospheric sound ?
But hey, that's still a pretty nice job you did there ! Looking forward to the next one, I played the lst one not so long ago and it was great :)
I was actually quite surprised at how much deviation there would be at the paths--getting run over by a bus versus successfully evading them monster folk result in quite different content! I also really like simulating RPG fights in these text adventure sorts of games, there's a sort of ironic commentary on how game systems work to be found.
Really the most egregious thing though is that I always bring my teleporter in my back pocket when leaving my house, I don't see why this occasion would be any different.
Great writing, it was entairtaining and funny. I like that sometimes we have choices that leads to nothing like using the teleporter, it's a great way to engage the player. Thanks.
@balance686 Thank you for the kind comments. Again, I agree with you that audio would have helped this.
@svats7 Am glad you enjoyed. I will admit the game didn't follow the theme as closely as I originally planned but it didn't deviate completely from it :)
@quasar47 Thank you, am glad you enjoyed the overall experience with it. It is possible to die in the game through loss of health which can affect the ending you get but it relies heavily on a few random number generations going a particular way which I didn't really have the time to perfect in the final testing. If I ever use this battle system in any future projects then it will be more heavily refined and better balanced.
I'm glad you enjoyed so many aspects of the game. It was my first time in using text alone to quite this extent so wasn't too sure how it would come out but people seem to have enjoyed the writing so I feel I now have a good platform to build from with future endeavors.
Din't really understand the theme connection at the beginning but it is indeed clear once you actually go through it.
Simple but interesting entry :)
