I should have expected it though, since 1. it's a horror game, 2. I get very scared by horror games, and 3. it's VR. When I died to the wardrobe monster, it felt unfair since the game didn't tell me what was happening or how to defend myself, so it felt cheap. I know that technically this kind of teaches the player how to play, but it's not fun here because failing means getting a huge jump scare out of nowhere which put me in a bad mood.\n\nAnyways I got to round 4 or 5 before losing in the computer game, and I was too scared to try the game again, haha. The graphics in the runner game are great, good choice having totally different scenery in each stage. And the game itself is fun.\n\nOverall the game has a good concept and executes it pretty well! The game has a nice flow (minus what I said above). The sounds and lighting effects are well-made and well-timed. The monster sound effect when you lose was well made, but personally I think it may scare people way too much - the creepy room sounds, the lighting, the anticipation, and the red eyes already convey the mood enough, imo.\n\nAlso, I'm a noob at using my cardboard, but the magnet slider didn't work in-game, I had to reach in with my finger and touch the screen. Also that's impressive you didn't use an engine! You should add a link to the source code. Also, I'm pretty sure there's software you can use to record gameplay footage of your game, haven't used it myself but I've heard about it.\n\nI hope you find my comments helpful. Great job team!","likes":4,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Rayne","author_uid":1029544,"time":"2018-04-29T21:47:27Z","epoch":1525038447,"modified":1525038447,"text":"It was pretty nice to use my dusty Cardboard once again. Nice touch. \nIt wasn't as scary as I expected. But really nice concept.\nI feel like more instructions should be given and maybe fix the platformer game. The second level is pretty tough to beat even as an easy game.\nA pretty well-done game, I'll keep playing it. That was pretty spooky. Nice atmosphere and I like the game-within-a-game mechanic. Think I got to level 7 before losing on the platformer. I almost wish I lost some other way, I feel like I missed out on some spooky stuff :P Even though cardboard is not super immersive in general, I definitely got scared by some of the noises & the lights going out. There didn't seem to be much happening in the room around level 4\/5 though, some faster progression might have helped there. You really tried to innovate, choosing to make a VR game at Ludum Dare!\nIt was very spooky indeed, you really nailed it.\n\nThe art is simple yet very functional. However, it was a bit hard top understand at first. I also think you should be careful with the scarejumps, they are not bad at all but maybe some feedback before the Monster actually kills you. You could make it scarier experimenting with the atmosphere instead.\n\nAnyways, you did a good work.","likes":3,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Bela Bohlender","author_uid":1075717,"time":"2018-05-03T18:51:17Z","epoch":1525373477,"modified":1525373477,"text":"@seurimas Just figured out how to answer comments :) The source code is available @ gitgub: https:\/\/github.com\/No-Hashtag\/vr-game-ld41\nIt's a little dirty but the plan is to cleanup the code soon :D\nA PC version is not planned but if we get more attention we might bringt it to IOs.\nThanks for the review and interest <3","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"saoi-games","author_uid":"1079667","time":"2018-05-06T05:38:07Z","epoch":1525585087,"modified":1525585087,"text":"I\u2019m not sure if you were able to see it, but I mentioned your game on my stream at https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/saoigames tonight.\n\nI downloaded the project to my phone and tried to play, but struggled to figure out how to engage with the scene. I could look around the bedroom and when I looked at the NES and tapped on the screen I could hear a sound, but I didn't see a pointer or loading icon that helped me know where exactly my gaze was landing. I see others have mentioned more game play, and I'm sad I wasn't able to experience all of it. \n\nDo you have a hint of what I might need to do to ensure I get to experience all of your game?\n\nThank you","likes":2,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Bela Bohlender","author_uid":1075717,"time":"2018-05-06T14:38:29Z","epoch":1525617509,"modified":1525617509,"text":"@saoi-games I am sorry u were unable to play.
