I don't know how to progress. I got the ramen, and then microwaved it. I went outside, but there was nothing there. After I went inside, and slept, it told me I couldn't leave without a key. I looked at the fridge, and my bed, and everything, but I couldn't go anywhere.","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"chainedlupine","author_uid":1007266,"time":"2019-05-01T19:39:28Z","epoch":1556739568,"modified":1556739568,"text":"@robotsoulsgames Hey, thanks for giving my game-engine demo a shot! I appreciate you taking the effort to download and test it out. I'm sad to report to you that there isn't anything else to do in the game. I only had the two test rooms, and the four test objects to interact with.\n\nBut, I do intend on finishing the game, so I will post an update once it's completed!","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"RobotSoulsGames","author_uid":"1013253","time":"2019-05-01T21:08:52Z","epoch":1556744932,"modified":1556744932,"text":"@chainedlupine Ok. I did definitely find it kinda fun, even just for the novelty of playing it through an emulator. The game seems like it has a lot of potential. I find it so cool that once in a while there are people like you who make jam games for old computers!\n\nI think it's really cool for a demo and the only thing it lacks is some content, but I can see that the basic mechanics are here and this is great :)\n\nA bit of a shame it's unfinished though, but hey, I haven't been able to do anything more than a tech demo myself, haha. I am looking forward to seeing it finished, so please feel free to tag me for updates if you're planning to continue :p\n\nI don't know if I am being obvious and\/or useless here, but I got a much cleaner picture by clicking on the last button, and then selecting a Color (RGB Monitor) setting. Maybe that killed some of the charm, though, haha!\n\n![keu.PNG](\/\/\/raw\/4b6\/81\/z\/24a00.png)","likes":0,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld44\/149254-322700474934e8a4985acfd8f31021c6.png"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/ChainedLupine\/apple2_tools\/tree\/master\/projects\/ludumdare44","text":"Shockk"},{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/ChainedLupine\/apple2_tools\/releases\/tag\/jam-bugfix1","text":"Apple (other)"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"36646","g_author":"1007266","g_event":"LD44","g_eventkey":"75","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"257690","g_title":"EXUBER&","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"4","g_site2_node_id":"149254","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0.703087"},"nds":{"n_key":"149254","n_urlkey":"257690","n_parent":"139254","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/44\/exuber","n_slug":"exuber","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"7266","n_created":"1556329405","n_modified":"1556707122","n_version":"466970","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":149254,"parent":139254,"superparent":9,"author":7266,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2019-04-30T00:25:28Z","created":"2019-04-27T01:43:25Z","modified":"2019-05-01T10:38:42Z","version":466970,"slug":"exuber","name":"EXUBER&","body":"EXUBER& is an adventure game for the Apple \/\/e Enhanced series of computers, originally released in 1987.\n\n![Applewin_2019-04-29_20-43-53.png](\/\/\/raw\/26c\/1\/z\/23512.png)\n\n# What is implemented\n\nThe game itself isn't finished. It's more like a game engine, instead of a real game. There are a few things you can do but mostly it's just a tech demo. I ran out of time trying to implement the art and story, though I do have it all written down (along with prelim sketches).\n\nAt the moment all basic functions are present and working. You can move between rooms, talk to people, interact with objects, and examine them. But that's it.\n\nThere is no game over or win screen.\n\n# How to Play\n\nThe theme of the story is remaining current in life. That's my interpretation of the Your Life is Currency. You must strive to remain yourself, and demonstrate that you can improve your life and remain in touch with the world around you for 30 days.\n\nEvery time you sleep on the bed, you lose one quarter of the moon symbol (around 8 days).\n\nDepending on your actions, you will lose (or gain) quarter of your mental state (in the top right corner). If you lose all four, it is game over. You win by lasting out all four quarters of the moon with at least one portion of your sanity\/self intact.\n\nThe game's themes to were to be loss, depression, finding yourself, and the tenaciousness of life itself. None of that is currently in the game, though. :smirk: \n\nTo actually play, use the four arrow keys to select actions: EXAMINE, WALK, INTERACT, and TALK.\n\nWhen you engage a command, you will then see a yellow arrow.
