I did notice the game was sort of "jumpy", though. No pun intended, I mean it wasn't smooth all the time. Like, it slowed down and sped up making things sort of "jumpy".
But yeah, loved the gameplay! Good fun :D
Thanks for rating our game!
the game was very fun...never ate so many veggies in life...
AND you can't beat my HighScore(287.4M)!!!!!
high jumping off the hurdles was also fun
Some glitches I found:
- For some reason, when I hold jump before I collide with an obstacle ans keep holding it, my jump gets really higher (The characters even exits the camera).
- Any button except "Space", "Left arrow" and "Right arrow" makes the character jumps, Maybe that is a little weird, it is not game breaking, but it is weird
Some Ideas of changes:
- Raise the penalty for hitting the fences. For how it is right now you don't need to be afraid of hiting it, because you can recover the stamina pretty quickly by eating something.
- Modify how the fruits are being spawned, making them sometimes risky, but a risk that is worth trying.
The game is simple and enjoyable, except by these things that I just said, this is a pretty good game.
Nice entry !
Music could be a bit more energyzing. But I'm complaining at a high level.
Well done!
The difficulty curve is a bit on the flatter side. there's not much difference in the challenge 10 seconds in and 1 minute in.
Also to piggyback on the point made by Shunaky, some obstacle that covers some of the high part of the screen would at to the challenge, because the jump is actually super generous.
- The music is very repetitive and the drums are higher than the rest. I missed some kind of melody.
- The gameplay is boring. It gets speedy at some point before 100, but then it never gets any harder. There is no penalty to hitting the high hurdle too. I seriously turned on a podcast in the middle of the gameplay. (I only died because I got baited trying to pick a fruit immediately before a hurdle, you are eviiiiil hahaha.)
- I didn't understand the commands to walk left and right. Clearly the best place to be is at the left of the screen, to have more time to react to the hurdles appearing, so no use of walking left and right.
Things I liked:
- The art is good, the parallax effect is well done!
- Funny theme, the pixel art belly is very funny xD.

Nicely polished microgame. Doesn't overstay its welcome and does everything that it needs to do reasonably well. There isn't a ton of difficulty which is fine, but that ultimately means longer play sessions so I think you could do with a new coat of paint every 100 distances or something.
Obviously, being Ludum Dare, the amount of polish you achieved was really great, and you did well not to overscope, but like a lot of people are saying, because the difficulty doesn't ramp up, the lack of variety is really emphasized.
Overall though, it's a good game!
Would be really fun to have him get thinner as his weight goes down... lotta work though :)
Pretty funny game :D I loved the moods, the graphics are really lovely ! It's simple but everything work well together :3 Well done for this efficient runner
Graphics and animation are absolutely amazing! I can't believe how much character and mood you could cram into so few pixels! Well done!
Overall a really finde entry :)
The game could really use sound effects (the visual effect when you land was very nice, but some sfx would have been even better). The music is pretty short and since the game is pretty long it gets repetitive fast.
I think the game suffers a bit because of its length/pace. The mechanics that are implemented work well but since there is really only one interaction, ie jumping, there isn't much of a challenge. A duck option could have been a nice addition, but I understand the time constraints. However, even without adding any features, I think scrolling the screen faster would be an improvement.
I know this sounds a bit negative but I was just trying to give a few ideas to improve the game, or to keep in mind in the future. Moreover the game is overall pretty smooth and very well polished graphically. Good job !
(ps: thanks for the web build)
