Tutorial

``` You jump into the tragic role of former super hero who, due to an incident in the past, has fallen from grace. He became a slave to the bottle, in order to forget what happened in the past. But the memories keep flashing through his mind. That one tragic moment where he and Grasshopper... No!
He grabs his bottle to take a deep gulp when he realized, he's out of booze.
Time to go to the liqour store! ```
Wasn't really sure what the jump button was there for, and I'm not certain how this pertains to the theme (literally running out of superhero power, maybe?), but...other than that, nothing really to nitpick over.
For clarification: The second bar is your power - it fills up when you consume alcohol and the more you have the stronger your punches, but you lose alcohol per punch.
And yes, the theme is that you are running out of super hero power (and need to refill it with sweet, sweet alcohol), but fitting narrative into a short game is hard. :D
Great graphics, good sound and music. I found it extremely boring though. This is basic even by the standards of an early 90s beat-em-up (a genre that has aged really poorly). There isn't even a jump kick! The only strategy seems to be corralling everybody into one place so you can punch them all at once. I also wish it was larger on screen. I'm sorry to be harsh, but I don't think that beat-em-ups are going to have the same renaissance that fighting games started a few years ago.
Yeah, unfortunately we didn't get to the really cool parts about actually adding some super powers for our hero. No grabbing of street signs or suplexing cars, or any other kinds of super moves.
As for the ending, it was extremely rushed too, so we're glad we actually got the boss fight in at all.
No-one was planning a renaissance of fighting games. This is not Steam Greenlight. This is just a gamejam, and we did what we thought would be cool to do.
Nice graphics and music but the gameplay was pretty simple.
The combat sistem is too simplistic (but its understandable for a jam), I would love to see a bit more depth in there!
Overall it's a cool game, you should be proud!
We've had a lot of reports of Chrome really not working. Firefox has had better results at least. Apologies about all that - we used a really old version of game maker that gave us a lot of trouble. :C
Have to say that the gameplay is simple, but hey, it works, and it's a very good jam competition game.
The punches also felt very powerful and good.
I made it to the green fairy but the game become a bit boring after a while.
Maybe it would be better if new differents enemies were coming earlier so you haven't to fight a lot of the same dudes for a long time.
All in all, great work
Otherwise nice work, haven't played a traditional fighter in some time.
