"FAQ"

Throw fish to attract your followers to its location, they prefer to go to the fish rather than you, but they can see it only as far as they can see you.

The point on the theme was "the more followers you have, the worse it is (to navigate)", while the Bromans can trample through your followers, they pose an obstacle to your navigation.

The objective is to free as many followers as you can before you get caught, post your high-scores on the comments if you will. It's a jam game so we made something more arcade-y.

Running the game

Either install LÖVE and run the .love file, or download one of the available executables if you're on windows. A keyboard and mouse are required to play the game.

I didn't quite get what's going on with the fish and what is the objective of the game, but sound effects are awesome :)

Haha, those sound effects were hilarious! I love the graphics! Very well done! I did manage to save our people. But I'm not sure what I was supposed to do with the fish. I had fun flinging it though :D!

Wonderful Graphics. Reminded me of Asterix. The Bromasn made me lough. Wished for some music and a place to put my fellows at and a wax to kill the broman. Anyways nice game.

Nice! I like it! I would make it so the fish has a bit more attraction aura, right now it's really hard to attract your followers with your fish!

Nice art and funny audios!

The art is excellent! Liked the humour a lot too. I didn't get the point of the gameplay though

Nice! I love the cartoony style. It would be nice to see some animation, but I'll take what I can get. I didn't get how it used the theme until I saved someone and couldn't get past them and the others and I went, "ooooooooh, I see." Nice. I also didn't realize why you could throw fish until then either. The commandment on that one didn't really explain it.

Over all it was good!

Thank you guys so much for rating our game and making us get to 20 ratings. I've had a hard time managing to vote for 20 myself due to real life, and those games of yours that I didn't vote yet (and have a Linux build, my Windows pc is dead) I shall vote during the rest of this week.

@jadw1 Yeah, we agree. But we couldn't find a more fitting one that was more readable. =/

@larto and @solsforest The fish attracts the followers and give you a small breathing room to run.

@seb-degraff Just save as many followers as you can before getting caught. Try to get a big score, maybe? My max was 20 something, I believe.

@bryceltaylor Yeah, we had a lot of things during the jam time that hampered us. Our artist had a big assignment due on the week, and he could only make the static sprites. Maybe on the next Jam we'll be more experienced and have more time to include animations. ;)

And again, thank you so much guys and gals! :kissing_heart: :rainbow:

Played through this enough times to get to about 13 followers. It got a little bit chaotic at that point. Either way - it was fun. The sound effects were pretty funny, and the only thing I wished for, would be a timer for how long I have until I can throw the next fish, and how long until the next follower spawns. Otherwise, solid fun :)

Also, had a vibe that reminded me of this... "classic"

The art is really awesome! The gameplay is also nice, but I wish more mechanics were introduced after a while, to spice it up a bit. Some more bromans maybe or a way to counter them!

Nice entry!

Keep up the good work guys!

I couldn't play because it ate half my RAM (using Mesa3D).

@aurel Thanks for playing the game! Had never seen that game before. And yeah, we missed the timers as well after the deadline. =/

@multiplexor We actually had a scenario with two posts and bromans, and one with two bromans on one post. But the clutter on the screen was too big already just with the followers we decided to keep just a single post and broman. Powerups sound like a nice idea though, any ideas of extra mechanics/powerups? Thanks for playing our game!

@jonathan50 Can you please give us a better a specification on how to replicate your system so we can try to avoid such problems in the future? (And also how much RAM it consumed on your computer)

I’ve run a quick test here on my computer and the game takes up about 600mb of RAM (Which is a lot more than what I expected already), but we would like to test out with something akin to your system so we can see where the problem lies.

Thanks for trying to play the game and hope our next ones are playable for you!

EDIT: My system is running Lubuntu 17.04, on a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU, with 4gb of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 4670 and my OpenGL version is 3.0 Mesa 17.0.7. (Quite an old machine, really)

I have a 2009 Sony VAIO netbook, Windows 7 Starter, 1 GB RAM, Intel Atom N280 CPU, it has Intel 945 integrated graphics but it only goes up to OpenGL 1.4 so I used Mesa3D from here for software rendering: https://github.com/pal1000/mesa-dist-win/releases

Although I'm pretty sure the only thing that is really important is that I have 1 GB RAM and tried to use software rendering.

lol, artstyle is nice but it's kinda a classic case of artists making nice art and it gets scaled down so far that you lose the detail, would've been better if they were made at that size or everything was bigger on screen. Dialogue was funny too.

Nice job.
