Your life of you body is like a currency. It's about circulation and passing through. You have to keep it alive. You have to maintain it to keep its value. You have a very good maintainer, your brain. It does big amount of work in controlling your inner organs. How long could you stay alive if you take the its job?

Instructions

There are four stats (blood circulation, oxygen, water and nutrition). Your goal is to keep them above 0%.

Blood circulation is maintained by the heart. Press F key repeatedly to make the heart beating.

Level of oxygen is increased when inhaling by holding J key, when you release it, the lungs exhale.

When the water level decreases below 80%, the body will drink - the stomach fills with a water (but only if it's empty). To absorb the water, use the stomach, by pressing K key.

The most complex process is to obtain nutrition. You have to wait for the body to eat (nutrition level is below 80%). By pressing the K key, the stomach will digest the food. Digestive process has multiple phases. First the stomach has to fill with gastric acid, next it must churn multiple times until the food is fully digested.

stomach.png

Nutrition from digested food is absorbed mainly by using small intestine (pressing D key). This will create some amount of waste material in large intestine.

intestine.png

Large instestine is controlled by S key to move the waste material throuh it and absort remaining nutrition (smalled amount then small intestine).

Changelog

  • 2019-05-04: Fixed time shown in score (was still showing game's total running time)
  • 2019-05-02: Added link to updated version, where smashing all the buttons randomly won't keep you alive. You must keep the frequency of heart beats in certain limits and use deeper breaths using lungs. Remember you should rate the original version.
  • 2019-05-01: Time reset after restart, oxigen typo

I love the idea! I found a debug button "R" which sets every thing to 100%. Also, Oxygen is spelled wrong. You have it oxigen, should be oxygen :)

I loved it! It is such a stresful experience and it requires you to watch out for a lot of things at the same time.

Really cool game but very hard. I like the idea very much.

One thing that I noticed, is that the time is not reset after you die.

Awesome idea! Too much buttons and too few fast fingers to survive longer than 130 seconds :) I like this game!!

Very nice idea!

But it seems you can't die if you just smash all the buttons constantly.

Maybe introduce pernalties for too shallow breathing or heart beats.

Damn, your Game is hard but funny as hell. It's really hard T press D, when you need to hammer F (and i'm a guitarist, so my fingers should be trained for this, lol), Maybe you could reposition the keys to be better reachable.
There seems to be a bug with the time. It does not reset after death.

Very nice idea and cool graphics! It's really hard, I also tried it in coop with another person but it's too easy if you split in heart + lungs and digestive system. One thing though is that I don't really see the connection with the theme, I can't see the concept of currency. Also, you might want to opt out of audio since there's none.

Nice job overall!

@limered Maybe it is because you have a different keyboard layout, but I have the keys next to each other, so you can control SDF keys by left hand and JK keys by right one

@sbeif You know, I'm glad I at least got an interesting idea event if it doesn't perfectly fit to the theme. The only connection is indirect, read the description below the screenshow.

@simonl I'm aware of that, I had an intention to do some penalties, e.g. if you don't keep the heart beat rhythm, but I didn't have enought time for it. So try not to do it :-)

@sbeif It seem it is not possible to opt out from rating categories now. But I think I didn't even opted in, weird.

This is hilarious - would be great to add in some sound effects. :)

My ancient fingers gave out in the end.

I really like score attack games, this is no exception. I think I did ok, I mean it's a very hectic game and I am not the best at multitasking. Very unique take on the theme, great job

@simon-rahnasto Congratulation to your score, even though I think got some skill in my game I now died in 70 seconds :D

@cpl1993 I cannot say, maybe some hidden bug, it never happend to me.

@simonl you can try the updated version (see the links), where you can't just smash all the buttons constantly to not die.

Cool concept but in my imho needs redesign a little bit - smashing heart every 0.3s does not add any value to the game and it is tidious, everything is happening so fast you cannot even grasp what's going on and what you need to do, gameplay is little bit repetitive.

Shame that there is no sounds in this game - it probably would help a lot on figuring out what you are doing good, what wrong and what to do next!

Overall cool concept but need a little bit more polish i think. If it had some sounds and been little bit less repetititve - i would definitely play it again!

Good job on finishing!

Hahah I'd make such a bad brain. Pretty original! a bit to easy (I know some already said that) since you can smash all the buttons. I'll try the update version now! Good job!

I really love the idea, but, like others have pointed out, everything happens way too fast. What you should have done in this game is to gradually introduce each game mechanic to the player. For example, in the beginning, have the player only be responsible for blood circulation and oxygen. Then, after 30s or so, the guy starts to lose water, and then nutrition after 60s. Once I got the hang of it, the game was really cool. It's just so unfortunate it was so difficult in the beginning.

A good rule of thumb for any game is that the player should never be able to die within the first 30 seconds of the game, no matter how bad they are.

@cpl1993 I found the problem you mentioned. It is because the time showing above the head is reset properly, but in score was shown game's total running time. Fixed now.

lol, that was interesting to say the least. Nice take on the theme and it was some unique game play. I couldn't live longer than 36 seconds unfortunately :)

Cool game! It was quite challenging, though but that's perfectly fine. Interesting and unique mechanics. Everything happened a little bit fast, maybe even too fast (when I first ran the game I immediately died because I didn't realize how fast it happened). The graphics are good. I would've liked some kind of sound effects or background music.

Anyways nice entry. Great job!

A very interesting game, but way too hard on my fingers. For me the updated version fails to register the repeated presses of the F after pushing down L so it's impossible to play.
🎤 Richard Jedlicka
04. May 2019 · 22:44 UTC
@flying-dog-fish L key is not bound to anything so it is weird. Maybe it just appears it doesn't register the F key presses because it is actually happening when you are pressing too quickly, the time between presses must be longer than 300ms. That is the update, so you cannot press it instantly.

Thats a very creative idea! It was very hard at the beginning because it's so fast, but that just makes you to play again and again, to get a better score. I made it to 62seconds :D Great game!
