DEA-7H by b3agz

I'm seeing a lot that the mouse doesn't always work in the title menu >.< Sorry about that. If you get that bug use the keyboard, the mouse works fine in the game proper.
Controls Move left/right with the arrow keys or A/D. Scan people with a left mouse click, and talk to people by pressing enter when you are close to them. Escape will take you back to the title menu.
Hello, DEA-7H. Welcome to The Corporation...
You are Debt Extraction Android 7H (DEA-7H). It is your job to seek out debtors that owe the corporation and have defaulted so that they may settle their debt through... other means. Unfortunately it is common for these future slav...I mean people... to go into hiding.
You must talk to the people, attempt to learn what you can about your target's disguise so that you can bring them in.
Scanning a person will show you the known details about that person as well as what you know about your target.
Be careful, however; talking to too many people will tip your target off, and they may slip away before you uncover them.
If you think you have worked out who your target is, you can talk to them and accuse them, but false accusations will immediately tip off your target.
Here's a video. The content of what I'm saying is really directed at the viewers of my YouTube channel, but there's a solid 4 minutes of gameplay on the screen while I'm saying it.

Dialog appears toooooo slow. Since the game tells me "new information", I know instantly whether it's useful or not, which means I get impatient waiting for the non-useful dialogs to complete. I'd like to be able to hold a button and have the text appear more quickly. Or just 2x the speed by default.
Later trying on and on. I was not able to get any useful information :(
Cool game. A like the art style very much.
The gameplay seems a little bit confusing at first. Maybe outline the new informations or add some effects on the subjects that are more prone to be your pray will help.
Thanks for you work!
After a while I did find I was repeating the same action over and over to try and stumble on who I was looking for, rather than gathering information to slowly home in on my target. But as I did a game with a similar theme I can totally empathise with how tricky that it to nail!! (I didn't manage it wither haha)
Thanks! Great entry :)
5/5 on everything, super well done!
I was SO tired last night. I feel asleep waiting for it to build! I'm glad you like it, thanks.
Cool art and music!
I was having troubles trying to close the scan by Esc quite often, which gave me some trouble, but the atmosphere is so immersive :thumbsup_tone3:
Not my kind of game as gameplay, but that's a matter of personal preference :)
Anyhow it's clear that it was done with passion!
Really good job!
Really well made and polished game, super interesting gameplay, loved it ^-^
Really appreciate the playthrough.
Thanks for rating our game!
Great job, i don't see this kind of game before in this ludum dare.
I loved the "Spyfall" feeling that I had in this game, by trying to find who is the deception, I just think maybe they could answer your questions as they thought you were looking for the right answer, trying to give you a real (Or not, if he is the deception) but with not a lot of details.
Spyfall works this way, you have a place and a role, and you are asking the other players what they do, how is the place and so on... and the people answer trying not to give the place away, because if the Spy finds out where are you at, he win's the game.
So, I little idea for your project:
- Make the person create the questions by creting a list of possible matching words, like in the first word "Where", "How", "Do" and so on, and all theese words have a tag that represents what they do in the phrase, and when you ask the person they get those tags and answer based on it... It's hard, but that would give a lot more life to your game.
@shunaky This game is getting further development as it turns out and an idea similar to that is on the table. Thanks for the feedback!
I had a little glitch though. I got this black screen and after a while I couldnt move or do anything.
Anyways it was a cool little game. Nice entry.
I also foun a bug where I couldn't do anything at all after starting a new game. Perhaps because I spammed the LMB like an idiot... who knows
I was playing the web version, and trying out full screen. Running in the original size had less problems, but still needed a few refreshes.
The few games I did get in, no one was helpful at all and I didn't get any information to help me out.
The game has some good potential for a logical puzzle game. I like the art, I like the idea, I'd love to play a few levels that were actually possible instead of no one telling me anything and the target escaping.
