itchT.png Try to protect the village by killing those who seems to be a threat for the community. By pressing a key, you'll destroy the person affiliated.

I've used the free Birthday Cake font by Michael Shillingburg, but I did everything else by myself during the jam, using mostly Construct 3, Gimp and Bosca Ceoil. The game exist thanks to the advices, the cheering and the support of Marianne Vieulès, Camille Lartigue, Ysaline Debut and Nona Passiant.

Hey! Great game, I love the design, art and general concept behind it. Though, is there actually a way to 'save' the village or is everyone doomed to burn? Played it twice and everyone still died.

I really liked the art style, however it glitched and the camera was strange.

Cool idea! I liked the visual design, but the flashing was too much.

Using letter keys like that is an interesting mechanism. The art style is kind of neat. It looks like a dressed up version of a kids drawing. The audio is pleasantly suitable. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's much gameplay yet. It's also confusing what to do as they all seem to light up a torch eventually. Overall, nice job on trying some unusual game mechanics!

@deltanutmeg Yes, there is a way to save everyone! But you can start a killing spree by burying random character, you got to be very careful. The character from the same colour of the victim might get angry and accuse other groups of the death of their friend

It looks very good :)

It's a little hard to understand what's going on. Too much chaos!

I played 3 times... graves everywhere. I did not expect a cemetery builder here

Congrats on your game!

@cowa Thanks for the review! If you play again, maybe you will find the way to finish the game without killing anyone!

I just slapped the keys on my keyboard as fast as I could. Not a bad game actually, the camera blinking was a bit distracting for me. Is there a way to save the village?

@boyturnedrobot The point is not to slap every keys on your keyboard, if you want to save the village you got to pick very carefully the people you want to sacrifice. There is a way to save the village, and you can actually finish the game without any loss at all, if you start again maybe you'll find it...
The camera blinking is there to make you fill how desastrous the situation is, you might have caused a massive killing spree by slapping your keyboard, if you pay attention the characters reacts in a logical manner to what happens to their surroundings
I hope you will find the "right" ending ! :)

I love the design. Super cute and fun. Until chaos took over. :) Graphics and music are really good and it is different style of game play. Great job.

I got so close to actually getting to kill everyone. I did figure out that the same colored dudes would get mad if their brethren were killed. So I had to wipe them out one race at a time, kinda morbid btw. But the flashing and them grouping too much together got into way all the time. I always couldn't find one of the torch carrying ones or their letters in time. The letters were also kinda small and slanted to a weird angle so it was hard to clearly read them in time. I also tried the strategy of first positioning my fingers on top of the keys of the blue crew and then try to take them out in a quick swoop but somehow that method failed every single time as well as at least one dude miraculously always survived.

The look was nice and cohesive. Super simple design but it worked very well. The sound effects were a bit bland, for example could have used some more oomph on that explosion sound.

After I thought I was done with the game I came here to read the comments and saw you mention that you can actually finish without killing anyone so I had to go back to figure it out. Only to encounter this issue where the the camera was offset to either corner and I'd only see a portion of the screen. It was always this if not in fullscreen and 1/5 of the screen bottom right corner if in fullscreen so it became completely unplayable. Even refreshing the page didn't help here at all.

And obviously while I was screenshotting and starting to write this I heard some new sounds from the game. Seems like the pacifist route was even easier that expected...

Anyways, good job!

@antti-haavikko wow i never heard about anyone before that tried to kill everyone color by color, even if you achieved that it wouldnt work that way. Its a bit creepy but hey, its an interesting way if playing i guess, it could've worked!

Yes i didnt find a way in time to manage the camera and the resizing of the window, in fact if you minimise the screen and then come back to fullscreen the game needs a rumble to put back the camera in the right spot. But if you want to get the pacifist way you want to avoid any rumble...

However im super glad you found the way to save everyone, you are one of a few, thanks for your kind and detailed review!

I'm not sure what I just played but loved the feeling. Art was pretty good and I always enjoy unorthodox input systems.
