Transformers by ito123456789

[raw]
made by ito123456789 for LD35 (COMPO)
Use your transforming tanks to destroy the enemy. They can transform into airplanes to quickly move over walls, but they can't shoot in this form (not implemented).

Destroy all enemy tanks to win.

The tanks attack automatically, your job is to keep moving, take cover and superior battle positions.

The game controls like a RTS, left click selects units, right click moves them. You can also hold SHIFT or draw a box to select multiple units.

Not implemented or not fully working:
- More objetives (like capturing buildings).
- Tank transformation (so it can fly and go over walls).
- Decent pathfinding, and avoiding tanks to get one on top of another.
- More graphics.
- More enemies.
- More powerups.
- GUI, menus.
- DLC.

Tools used:
- Game Maker Studio.
- Bfxr.
- Bosca Ceoil.

I like the idea of only having to move the tanks. The graphics are also cool. nice execution

Brilliant game! I would love to see some kind of arena mode with waves of enemies spawning and of course more levels :p But for a such short period of time, it's one hell of the game :)

Nice little game. The start was pretty sudden though, took me a while to realise my tanks were in the corner and I wasn't just on a long fancy intro screen. Definitely like the mechanic of focusing on moving your tanks to dodge the bullets, and letting them handle the shooting. It felt a little like a less punishing version of cannon fodder.

I really enjoyed this game, although I did get a little annoyed at times when my tanks tried to shoot through the walls rather than at the tanks that they could actually hit.

There seems to be a hitbox issue with the boss tank though, most of bullets seemed to pass through it unless they hit it dead centre?

Fun war game, was not hard as some people say and I enjoyed playing it until the end.

Now I know why you left that comment about mine. I wish you a life full of destruction and free oil from other countries.

Sad to see that you couldn't implement tank transformation, as of now the game don't seem to fit the theme. But otherwise really cool game and mechanics. I do however wonder if you should have waves spawning instead. Because then you might want to use the individual tanks some more. Now you always have them all selected to make a blob of destruction :)

Thanks for the PDB tips i removed the files, the game is now shrinked from 40mb(compressed) to 17mb(uncompressed)

I had fun playing. Well made. Too bad you didn't have time to implement the airplane-transformation, it would have been an interesting feature.

Great game! I loved the art, the controls are interesting and it's fun to play. It's kinda tough at the very beginning though and it would be great if you didn't have to exit and reopen the game every time you die.

When I look on this tank, I remember childhood with tanks on console... thank for nostalgia, but other art in game is not so good. Good luck, this is nice game!

Really enjoyed that. Sometimes the enemy can spot you through walls, not sure if that was intentional.
Well done :)

Nice compo entry. I enjoyed playing it, it's pretty challenging in a good way. The mechanics are well put together and the execution is pretty solid even if you didn't have the time to implement everything. Hope you won't give up this sweet project and finish it, the not implemented list looks promising.

Really neat game! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you’d like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/1j0YT8wm6Kc

An RTS? Nice! It was a little too difficult to keep enough tanks alive to actually clear the level, though. I like the controls and the music was a nice touch.
