A small game, kind of time-management meets sokoban with social commentary. Or something like that. Made in about 6-7 hours in 20-30 minutes bits slipped between many other stuff over the weekend. Of course turned out to be less than I hoped, but actually more than I expected - there is actualy some gamplay in it. :)

The board is your life - it fills up with tasks, and chores, and other things. Try to handle them all - either work on it yourself, or delegate to someone.

Push the pieces in the designated areas - the "WORK ON IT" areas you have to stand on the green buttons to fill up, the "DELEGATE" ones are automatically filling up, but slower. Once the area is filled up completely the pieces are removed, and you are awarded a couple of points. You have to handle each task before it's time is up - otherwise it blows up in your face, and you lose some life, and got even more tasks to handle.

Made with TIC80 fantasy console, so the code is freely available inside the game, just press ESC.

Great take on the theme! Felt very overwhelming near the end but wasn't unfairly overwhelming. I think I got a little over 400.

Fun game, nice way to implement the theme. Its really challenging, especially when I am moving peaces that almost explode and another one spawns infront of it.
Also love that they are not just blocks but accual tasks.
Great Job! :)

I do think some backgroundmusic would be nice though :)

@jake-cope Yeah, feeling overwhelming was the goal - enjoyable overwhelmed if that's a thing :)

@smogen Writing some words on the blocks makes the whole game come alive, makes it possible for the brain to think thoughts while playing like "I'm just making way for this task", "Let's deal with this inconvenience", "I just pass this burden onto somewhen else" :)

@evandowning Yes, I'ts getting harder and harder the more tasks appear... just like real life :)

Hey, a TIC80 game! Nice! First one I've seen this LD. :)

I played it a couple times. Read the description. I guess I still don't really understand the filling up thing very well. Maybe an animated tutorial or something to start, if you keep working on it, to show people a little more explicitly what's what and why?

But as a puzzle game I REALLY like the idea a lot. Congrats!

Can't belie this was made in such a short time, it's a very fresh concept and works surprisingly well. It took me a bit to understand how it was played, but it got me hooked up for a good while. Minimalist but super coherent presentation. Congrats on this!

Really nice game! I'm really bad at it, though! :D Your take on the theme is really good, the visuals are simple but effective, and the gameplay was on point as well. Really enjoyed it! High score: ~700

Wow! The idea is great, it took me some time to understand but really enjoyable. I got around 600 points. For 6-7 hours work is pretty awesome. Congrats!

The idea is a brilliant take on the theme. I enjoyed the "time management meets tetris" mechanic a lot.

I didn't get to use the Delegate boxes (probably that's why I didn't get past 1000-thousand :sweat_smile:), and I think that at one point on my first game the player token got bugged and overlapped with one of the pieces.

Other than that, this is one of the most interesting entries I've played so far. Amazing work!

Very good mood and using of theme! Can't understand why I have to delegate? because it has extremely slow time to activate.
