Rocket Boom by Filipe Leal

[raw]
made by Filipe Leal for LD 40 (JAM)

How many rockets do you need to Boom a Boss?

Launch rockets towards the enemy! But be careful... the more rockets you have, harder it is to control. The rockets will follow your mouse, so move it!

  • Controls:
    • Click to launch a Missil
    • Move your mouse to move the missil
    • Try to collect all the yellow orbs for an extra challenge.

Have fun!

Explosions are nice, but they really could use some sound.

Simple and straightforward toy. But not enough of a challenge that creates the fun.

A good concept though could be better executed. IMHO a lot more could be made from the explosions / bosses. Maybe OTT particle effects and loud noises? :joy:

Pretty cool. Kind of like a maze game. I wish there were more levels that were more difficult. Maybe some obstacles? Also, I wasn't a fan of having to do the levels more than once each with the multiple boss lives.

Overall I think this is a great start and those missiles look great!

A very simple and fun concept. Perfect for a Ludum Dare compo. After I died on a level I expected to restart on the same level. Instead it started me all the way over and that made me sad. Some rocket and explosion sounds would also add a lot.

Nice particles and simple concept but could use more reasons to use more rockets at once or some more obstacles.

Nice game!
I wish you could restart only the actual stage and not the whole game. It's a really good game besides that!

Sucks to ask like that, but I'd be very nice if you could check out my game!

Very fun concept-- a little graphics/audio polish could definitely go a long way, but I could totally see this doing great on anything with a touch screen since it's so simple yet engaging. Could also do a lot with different environments and effects and whatnot. Throw in some meteors and black holes and you got yourself a solid space theme-- or do whatever since the gameplay is so versatile.

Nice game you have here. Didn't' realize that the rockets went haywire from closeness to the mouse, thought it was from being close to other rockets at first

Nice game ! Simple but fun mechanic and good take on the theme.

The game could use retries, bonuses when hitting the yellow balls and some SFX (just bxfr would make a difference and it's really fast to use 30 minutes tops to add all sound effects to your game).

If you add a bit of polish and some new level mechanics you could release it I think (like on the app store or something).

This is a great of how a simple game can be fun, the game is very simple but it has pretty fun mechanic that alongside with the good art makes the game really fun to play, I wish you could have used some music and sfx that would have made the game even better, good job !

É br cara ? haha se for parabens ai, jogo mt legal, da pra trabalhar bem em cima dessa mecanica e fazer algo mais completo depois, tem potencial, bom trabalho !

I like the idea, the rocket movement is interesting and fits the theme. Maybe the levels could have used the controlling multiple rockets at once gameplay a bit more. It's also quite frustrating to restart the whole game when you lose a level.
