Manage a kingdom on finite resources without losing all your population or resources. Send and collect resources from your colonies to keep expanding and supporting your empire.
(Note: historical accuracy was not a priority, hence the vague place naming and lack of southern land)
To play, first pick a name for your monarch and kingdom. Once you click start, tabs will appear at the bottom that open different screens which give you an overview of your kingdom and let you invade other countries.
The first tab lets you control your homeland and look at its stats (though none of the actions work due to a bug). The Population tab gives you a quick rundown of how your population is split. The Colonies tab shows up once you've explored and colonised some land, and lets you manage colonies. Resources (one of the first tabs, and one of the most polished/functional) gives you an overview of your kingdom's stored resources and yearly yield and cost. Explore shows you all the lands in the game and lets you take land, giving you a rundown of what resources they hold and how many men you'll need to send in order to take the land. Once you've clicked on an action button, the "Next" button should show up and you'll be able to move on to the next year. You can perform up to 4 actions a day, and the rest will be put on hold until the next year.
Note that to expand some options and menus you'll need to ensure you click on the actual text, not just the coloured box, and there is no mobile support, so it's recommended to use a desktop browser. If you use Chrome (or potentially Opera or Safari) then the scrollbars will look slightly less out-of-place.

UI could be less messy, but getting that right in such short amount of time is quite difficult. Good job overall! ;)
Anyway, good job!

yeah UX was a bit off had no idea what i was doing for the first 2-3 runs. Than got the hang of it :D Pretty cool though, @otherpeople : dont just give up after the first loss!
Overall, the game concept is innovative and I liked playing it.
Good job, will play again! :)
Good luck and Congratulations. Hope to see you next LDJAM!
The limited number of options made it seem like I wasn't playing much of a part.
I had the cash and sent doctors and teachers to colonies, but there didnt seem to be much change when I did.
It's a cool concept, off to a really nice start.
I liked the colour scheme and the graphics though. Has a real retro feel to it.
Anyway, the game works very well to me. And the design was intuitive for a clicker style game, but needs some modifications like the other comments above (or below this if some people has something to say).
I want to say that it's a bit lacking in graphics and interactivity, but given the constraints (one dev, few days and using pure HTML/JS), it's actually a very fair attempt.
PS: Props for using vue.js
Thanks so much for all of the feedback - I didn't expect to get such friendly and constructive feedback for my first (proper) Ludum Dare entry!
Originally I'd planned to make the tabs moveable windows and include background music and an in-game explanation, but these were some of the things that I didn't get around to doing, along with properly fixing doctors and teachers so they work properly.
I may release an updated version at some point that would be linked from the game's landing page (the white screen) but if I do I don't intend to replace the original entry.
