Super Bullet Mania Reloaded (The Sequel) by fusionnist
Ever wondered what would happen if you were constantly distracted by your subordinates while placing towers and defending a city? Maybe you already know: you would have to multitask your way through tower strategy and avoiding your subordinates' bad (or good) ideas. And that's what Super Bullet Mania Reloaded (The Sequel, SBMRTS for short) is! Featuring: - Text adventure/visual novel gameplay in which your lovely war assistants attempt to extort money from you, build bombs, resolve international conflicts and discuss tea versus coffee! - Tower defense gameplay with multiple enemies, turrets, and a chunk of strategy. But wait! Your diplomat is talking really fast and if you miss this, a neighbor might nuke the place! (nuke not included in game)

Anyways, on to the controls: - click on an available spot to place a tower - click on a tower to upgrade it (if possible) - click on buttons to activate them - use left and right arrow keys to switch between selected turret - press R and wonder what it does beware: you cannot sell turrets! (your subordinates break them often enough anyway)

The team: - DieMango + Maytch: graphics - Lobsterblues: promo art + music - Fusionnist and Distorter: code

The game was made in C# monogame, in 72 hours. On the behalf of all of us, I hope you'll enjoy it!

But it's still super hard to play and from a visual point of view, it's a bit difficult to understand everything for the tower defense aspect.
The dialogue is great :D
Others: I agree with what you said about the pacing, the game is quite intense from the start. Unfortunately, when I was scripting the dialogs I ran out of time for curving them out. But I hadn't really considered it that much either, whoops! ;)
Very good feedback, thanks!
Game was too hard for me though, I can't get past the first wave. I do realize pacing/balancing is tough in a game jam :-)
What I loved
* Gameplay & overal feel
* Audio & overal artwork
* The character portraits!!
My Thoughts
* Tower defence aspect was a little hard to understand at first
* Interesting combination of genres
* Needs a little more polishing. But that’s for post jam :wink:
* Messages felt a little to big but shifted the focus to them which was good
I’d love for you all to review my submission as well.

Cool game, keep coding :)
I think the range of the turrets should be shorter 'cause a turret from the other side of the map can hit the enemy at his first step ^^
I’d love for you all to review our game too it's also a tower defense mixed with a run n' gun it could be fun to compare our different gameplays : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/gimgumho
