Puzzle Tower by NilC

[raw]
made by NilC for LD 41 (JAM)

Hi! This is a Pipes-Type Puzzle + Tower Defense. Screenshot01.PNG

There is no good tutorial, so here a little manual:

What you need to do is to connect the energy ray to all the towers. Click on the switchers to rotate them. It will change the path of the ray. There is a little gif: Enegry4.gif

Unfortunately, there are only two levels - we actually found the final mechanics about 4 hours before the jam end :)

Short but sweet. I liked it. I would honestly play a whole game of just that with more kinds of towers and stuff.

Really cute! The puzzle is a classic pipes-type thing and the tower-defense provides an interesting clock, since it requires you to get as many online as possible, as fast as possible. I was able to beat level 2 without turning on the final one or two cowboys.

Oh, really nice concept. Too bad it's so short. More levels would have been very good.

Fun, I think it's generally a better jam strategy to have fun mechanics over a few levels than trying to just stick with content you had that wasn't working. Leave us wanting more... although I suspect more would just be procedural level generation if there was time.

Really nice game, some more levels and maybe making the existing levels a bit longer would be great.

Very short but very sweet. I very much enjoyed the game that was there - it was the perfect mix of difficulty: a lot going on but many ways to complete the level. Very cool concept and would make for a very cool full game.

Very good! Nice job! I'm pretty sure, that mechanics you've found could be scaled to something bigger. I would play that game

Thank you all guys!
Maybe this prototype could be our next game :) Still thinking about that.

Awesome game man! super fun, to bad there are only 2 levels but this game has a lot of potential. You should definitely create a post jam version of this!

Congrats on the entry :D

This is a super cool game. The idea of a tower defence game with fixed towers to activate or deactivate is very well implemented. The only thing missing is a harmonious background music and different power lines.

Nice re-imagination of classic mechanics. The levels are pretty easy. Maybe having different towers, or if it was impossible to light all the towers at the same time or even having to spend money to buy switchers could give the game some cool depth. I also really like the graphics.

This is great! I think it could be a great mobile game if you worked on it more.

Nice little game, would love to see more levels and better audio in a finished version post jame. I loved the combination of the genres and thought you merged the puzzle and tower defence elements very well! Great job!

Nice entry... you have to also think quick in order to get the enemies.

Hey great game @nilc thanks for joining my stream

I loved how you mixed the two gameplay mechanics together, it really felt like they belong together and was a great experience to play!

I got the mechanics pretty fast when I started clicking on the pipes, although your mini tutorial in the game description helped too

One thing I would add to the game would be obviously more levels :yum: But maybe some kind of level / star system which would give you stars depending on level completion.. E.g Base Full Health = 3 stars, Base More Than Half = 2 Stars, Base Less Than Half = 1 Star

I could really see this as a fun web game on kongregate/newgrounds etc.

Keep up the good work and development!
