Platformer farming game in space! (Terrafarming) This is the 2nd jam Ive participated in (first was google game jam). I did all the programming. The controls are a bit glitchy but I'm just glad it's playable! Would love to hear some feedback! I didn't have time to test much at all.

Wasn't able to finish, and it was quite buggy, but it's a nice little game with an interesting take on the theme, nice job. :)

Glitchy but playable indeed :) The hitbox for collecting stars is a bit small, making the game longer/harder that I felt it should be.

Cool!

Nice graphics (I specially like the character) and the concept is cool as well! As you say the gameplay is a bit glitchy, but definetly playable! I wish there was a better way to keep track of my stardust though (could not see it anywhere)

Thanks for the feedback! @multiplexor Didn't realize that, added that to known bugs, there is a counter in top left you can see in desktop version. You're right the balance is way off. @Raiyumi I think the end game is broken.

As someone who has tried to make planet based physics in UNity I can say that this is a nice try. Always difficult to make this type of movement work well. What I usually do is change the gravity to the normal vector of the point of collision.
I like the idea for this game and with the right movement fixes it would be awesome! As @multiplexor said ... Nice graphics!

What I would change/add/fix:

-> Make the UI bigger.

-> Add a UI element to keep track of the player remaining lives. (I didn't know how many more collisions I could make with the asteroids)

Really fun, innovative design! I love the way you move between planets in this - I can't think of another game where I've seen a mechanic like it. Art is great too, it sets the mood for the game.

The art and the music in the game were great! That being said I think there's a lot you could improve. First I think there should be some sort of health bar for the player, I never know if I'm about to die or at full health so I don't know how risky I can play. The next thing I would add is some feed back for when the player either gets hurt or for if the player collects some dust. Since there isn't any feed back there the game play seems kinda empty. I think the biggest problem is the camera, because it seems to lag behind you often times you end up off screen and take damage. I think this is a great start with some wonderful potential! I would love to see you guys continuing work on it!

@Mordokay Thanks for the tips! Ive wanted to implement these kind of mechanics for a long time and this just felt right. It was quite a struggle and the gravity force is in the thousands so it needs a lot of tweaking. I plan on implementing this with proper physics equations (not sure if unity can handle it though. I actually disabled gravity completly and used trigger colliders for gravity fields and AddForce. I loved your game as I'm sure your aware by my comment. I would love to chat PM me on reddit u/a_winch if you like.

@Gavin Camlin Yeah I wish would have managed time better to have that stuff ready for the jam. I would love to continue working on this for a full release, all this feedback is really motivating.

This is really cute and interesting. I'd love to see a finished version, since it's so tough to play without knowing how much stardust you need or how much life you have. Also, the stars often spawn so close to asteroids that it's really tough to get them.

I enjoyed playing this game. I though the music and the art was adorable. The art drew me to play this game! The concept of the game is unique. At first, I couldn't tell from the itch.io page what my goal was, but when i read the LD page, I realized I was collecting stardust to create worlds. This is such a cute mechanic. There were times when the stardust was so close to the asteroids that it was hard to collect them, but I did enjoy playing this game!

@perfecthumaninterface sorry about all of the glitches! We were definitely scrambling during this time! Sorry about the lack of feedback indicators as well and well, all of those bugs, we were just happy to have actually created something with some form of playability. I definitely appreciate the time you took to create a video and we are definitely inspired to continue creating this.

Super cool concept! I really like jumping from planet to planet, and that your player 'orbits' the planet after jumping. Sort of reminds me of Mario Galaxy! I was able to double or triple jump at times, which got me a bit lost. This is an excellent entry. Great job!

@ropedog Thanks! :) I was actually thinking about Mario galaxy when developing. When I first got the game I was disappointed you couldn't play with the physics between planets, it was always scripted (from my memory). Looking forward to playing Fast Crash!

The game looks much better! I'm glad you added some UI to help the player really figure out what was going on + the improvements to the camera helped a ton! This is some great progress and it's wonderful to see you guys still working on this! The jump still feels a little weird because of how sudden it is, if the player gradually moved up the screen and then back down I think that would be much better! I also just felt a little lost in what to do. I know I have to do something like give the planets the star dust but I'm not sure what happens after that. Along with that I don't understand what the water and earth icons really do. I'm super happy to see you guys are still working at this! Keep me updated if you guys change more!

@gavin-camlin Yeah, I didn't work on the controls at all I plan on implementing the controls from a completely different perspective. Your feedback is extremely helpful! I did not realize how un-intuitive the mechanics and rule of the game are. If you press pause you can read the instructions but that is definitely not optimal. The biggest lesson I learned from this jam is how important the UI is. Thank you so much for playing the updated version! It really means a lot!
