Shot Thru The Heart by sheehan

Backstory

You were in Beirut the first time you saw her. She was working with another sniper then, but you took care of that. Now she is your spotter and mentor. You've been activated for another mission, take out the the villainous "Luger", or die trying.

You've managed to keep your mission secret, but can you keep your love secret?

About

Our game is a first person shooter dating simulator, wherein you play a sniper who is trying to woo the love of his life, his spotter.

The controls are very simple, move the mouse to aim and left click to shoot and rush dialog (still timed duration tho)! That's it! Escape will hard quit fyi.

Just listen to the comms and hunt your targets. We hope you enjoy and let us know what you think!

Change List

Due to popular demand we have added webGL support! Best played in full screen. I think the the exe is a better way to play though.

Small Bug. After your last shot, don't try to click thru the dialogue... it will skip too much of the fun ending.

Pretty funny combination of a shooter and dating sim! The music was perfect and the dialog was on point. A++.

You have that song stuck in my head now! Awesome game dude! The mentor reminded me of Meryl from MGS.

Most of it stuck together pretty well, the music, graphics, gameplay, dialogue etc.

One minor thing I had was I think you should goto the next dialogue box when the player clicks rather than going there once all the text is written on the screen. Impatient people like me would click and it would instantly go away xd

All in all nice job!

What an awesome game! This combination of Visual Novel/Dating Sim and Shooter was also something I was looking to do, but you truly nailed it. The comedy, and dialog were absolutely on point. Great Job!

I also learnt from your code, so that makes it even better :).

Thank you for letting me free the doggo. I also kept clicking the dialogue away but it was still on a timer to be read. I would prefer to click to force a dialogue to finish, then click again to go to the next dialogue. I clicked on the final dialogue and it finished the game before I could read it :'( Very cute though!

The only problem I had with this is that text is too slow to appear and the sound is really annoying. Great entry. And pretty funny as well.

Great combo. I never thought a dating sim and a First person shooter could go together but this one was a critical hit.

lol i'd rate it higher than a 5 in humor if I could- was surprised I enjoyed reading anything in a game this much. Best game writing 2018

feels like something from the newgrounds era 10/10

Well... Now I'm going to have to listen to that Bon Jovi song on Spotify for a few hours on loop... 10/10! Seriously though, humor is the strongest point of Shot Thru The Heart. Some of the bits missed but I got a few good laughs playing your game so thanks for that:)

Wow, this game fits the theme very well!

And for humor this is perfect, even though I didn't understand everything at the first read. (as a bad english-speaking/reading person ^^)

This is an entertaining way of telling a story, this game clearly deserve good votes :)

The humor was fun, and the puzzle-like gameplay of determining what to shoot was interesting. The sound for dialogue coming in could have been better; it got annoying quickly for me.

Silly little game! I thought the dialogue was really funny and fit the theme of your game really well. The art looked great and the game was very stable for me! Although in my mad sniper tirade at the end where I was firing off all my last bullets, I incidentally clicked through the last dialogue screen :/

Anyways I feel like you all made a nice little game and should be proud of it!

Creative combination and cute puzzles. Felt like I had to move my mouse a lot to look around but maybe something is off with my sensitivity. Glad you added the option to skip to the end of the dialogue scrolling :)

Loved the humor, played really well. Hard to read some time if i clicked too much. Itchy trigger finger I guess.

We have an unfinished game if you want to check it out. Dino Multiplayer.

I like the mood of this one! It was fun to play, and I almost get all the good points (did not understand what was the "2008 meme", and missed one shot in the last scene). Well done and good job, I enjoyed playing it!

That was funny. I enjoyed the mild puzzle elements of the game. I only missed one shot when the hipster turned around suddenly, but I caught up with him later during the "waste all your bullets" phase.

I'm glad I got a happy ending. Join to jail would have been such a bummer.

Hahah this was pretty funny. The spotter kept yelling at me for wasting bullets during the "waste your bullets" phase. The mouse tracking was a bit weird for me, even though I went fullscreen mode, too. The music was nice and funky.

The mouse tracking in full screen browser was really slow. I had to scroll a bunch to move anywhere. After shooting at stuff she wanted me to shoot at for awhile the game just abruptly sent me back to the start screen.
