That was a wild ride
I think the game will gain in visibility if you add a water/thirst level on the plants. It's a bit confusing to see one died whereas you just watered it a few seconds ago.
Also, the crop pooper is too easy to avoid.
Nonetheless, good job to you guys on your game.
@mediyaz that bird is really a douchebag. Just to keep in mind, your plants have more HP when in final stage.
@oskarolausson you can get water from the river, and then water your plants.
The watering level was a thing i planned to add, but sadly my house was broken into and they stole my laptop. =/
I recommend giving the house a bigger role, in its current state it is nearly useless. I found that staying outside the house helped me to protect the plants and it was easy to evade the boss.
Well done :)
Great job and good luck for retrieving your computer :/
Keep up the good work! :sunflower:
@sheldonzs About the space, the theme was used based on the tiles with plants, that are now walkable, so when as you progress in the game, less tiles you have to walk and also manage to escape from the monster.
@ana About the tutorial, the intention was to represent the games from the GameBoy era, without "previous button" on story lines.
Doomed:
About the considerations, as you can see in the tutorial on this page, you can recover the dead soil by using leaves(5) on it.
Also you everytime you water your plants, they recover full health and gives you leaves based on their level.
You have to water you plants everyday, the next day without watering they dry and the next day it dies.
At the top-right corner of the Screen, it's a count down for the and of the day.
Every day lasts 15 seconds, and 2 seconds between every day.
Each plant has different health points, the 2 starting stages die in 1 hit, but the mature ones need at least 3 hits to die.
I hope you play again considering this post.
I wish the directions would have encouraged me to walk around more so I would have known to distract the bird instead of hiding. In this game, it's more important to protect the plants than to hide.
I liked the predictable pattern. Day 1 walk around, Day 2 Dog trader visits, Day 3 Bird attacks. I wish the dog always gave you one free seed. Once the bird killed my seeds, I couldn't get leaves so that I couldn't buy more seeds and the game changed to just me running around on the third day and waiting for Day 1 and Day 2 to end.
Upon my second playthrough, I tried to be more strategic about using the seeds, but I only had enough leaves to buy one more seed each time the dog appeared. I was frequently left with 3 extra leaves, which were worthless.
I also made the mistake of pressing z instead of x to water a plant, and it destroyed it. I wish it would have put the seed back in my inventory instead. It was so painful to accidentally lose a plant like that because then I had no chance of purchasing more seeds from the dog.
At the rate I was going I am not even sure if it is possible to buy the more expensive plants. Maybe I made too many mistakes by letting one of my plants die early in the game, but it didn't feel good to have no hope of improving my situation. I was staunching the floodgates, keeping the status quo, hoping I don't slip up and make a tiny mistake that will cost me my life.
