Your game is playable, the idea is pretty good, it works with the theme of the jam. But it could be more challenging... just saying :D. Also, the menu interactivity could be a bit better. Anyway, good job and keep working to get even better results!

I really like this artstyle! I enjoy the game. You could prolong the playtime by adding maybe more difficulties. The balls could move faster the piston could crush you faster and so on. But the core game concept is really clever. Thanks for quickly responding and fixing the problems. Keep up the good work m8.

Pretty fun but the instructions were very unclear. I thought you were supposed to shoot the red balls, because I didn't see the little red lines. Also its really annoying how the hitbox includes the end part (Personal preference I guess).

Instructions were a bit unclear - I was trying to shoot the red balls and didn't realise for a while that you're actually supposed to shoot the thing coming towards you. Once I got the hang of it however, it was pretty fun! Repetitive, sure, but well made, with nice art and great music. Will be back to rate it once the comp time limit is up shortly!

Extremely quirky and fun to play, It does get repetitive unfortunately though, and I'm sure that can be fixed with more time. The art could be a bit less cartoony, but I'm worried if you made it less you would take the charm away so that's a hard one. Good work!!
BigBossErndog
12. Aug 2018 · 22:25 UTC
It's looking good! Though as others have said instructions could use a bit more clarity. Walk into blue balls for more ammo, avoid red. Shoot the red strips on the thing that is coming your way. Other than that, fun simple experience.

This was fun! It took me a second to realize I had to hit the wall on the red areas. After I got the hang of it though it felt really nice with the impact on the wall. Especially consecutive hits.
Catgol1
12. Aug 2018 · 22:56 UTC
I liked it, but it is quite easy to deal with the piston : when you fire three bullets form the top of the screen, the piston is almost back to it's original position.

It could be fun also to be able to deviate the ennemies by fiering at them (and probably not too hard by just taking the same mechanic as the one for the bullets, twicking some variables).

And maybe some kind of tutorial could be usefull, even thought everything is exlpained in the loading screen. But I took some time to understand what I had to do, and even after reading the descriptions I didn't understood at first that all the piston was not the target but only the small red lines.

12. Aug 2018 · 23:16 UTC
Nice submission! Graphics are pretty polished, feels good to play. Fit the theme really well. I think gameplay-wise it was a little short of being super engaging --- maybe a few more mechanics/powerups would push it to the next level. Great job for 48 hours.

12. Aug 2018 · 23:18 UTC
The game is very cute and the art works really well! I found the movement a bit sluggish for my liking, but the interpretation of the theme was pretty good! Maybe the instructions were unclear, but I enjoyed finding out that I had to shoot the wall after a few seconds of shooting the red balls (might of been my fault 😅). Overall I liked the game, but it is certainly in need of more content.

A very simple concept, but it makes for a nice foundation with potential. I could see this being expanded with added obstacles or projectiles.

The instruction to hit the "red things" confused me initially, as the balls you have to avoid are the most prominent red things!

I managed to finish it anyway and had fun, so good job!
Thepattybeast
12. Aug 2018 · 23:27 UTC
I like the concept although its poorly explained. The first couple times I didn't see the lines and was trying to shoot the balls. One thing is the piston didn't seem like much of a threat. I was dying to the red balls instead. Maybe if you could shoot the balls? Or if they didn't hurt you only blocked your bullets but there was a lot of them? That aside the game is pretty fun and feels very polished.
Syrapt0r
12. Aug 2018 · 23:33 UTC
I initially tried to hit the red balls because I thought I was supposed to, the red lines on the moving wall are pretty hard to spot ^^
This has a pretty nice concept, of course it's a bit short but it's definitely extendable with more obstacles or different game modes. I liked it. Good job!

It's a good idea, easy to play, but maybe a way to extend; the game a green ball resets the press?... I played one game where I was totally unlucky and never got a single blue ball. So sad.

Congrats on your first published game! I really liked how you put special hit markers on the wall to make it more challenging to hit. I initially tried spamming shots until I realized I needed to be a bit more accurate. I like the push and pull between having to dodge the red balls and collect the blue ones, it makes it so you can't just go on autopilot with the movement and have to adjust depending on what is coming your way. Good use of the theme, great job!

Really solid compo entry that fits the theme. Yeah, its a simple concept, but its executed well.

It did seem a bit unfair when you're really up against the wall that you can't 'catch' your own bullets to replenish ammo - might make a nice 'last dtich' defence mechanic, because if you're close enough your bullets are rebounding, you're close enough to game over anyway.

Congrats on your first entry!

For a first game this is pretty slick! simple concept executed well. A small nitpick, on the loading screen you may want to put a button to click before you enter the game. It's a challenging game! I celebrated when I won haha. Took me a while, 4 tentatives I guess. Most of it was because I wasn't understading that I needed to hit the walls only on the blinking red spots. When I read "hit the red things" on the instructions, I started to frantically hit the red bullets, wasting it all xP. But apart from that, it's a nice game.

Man Great game!!
And yeah LD is pretty awesome, huh?!

You should keep at making games! This is an awesome first publish!

Now somethings about the game:

Pros:
- The graphics are solid
- The music is solid
- The gameplay style is a cool idea!

Cons:
- I feel like when the enemies just hit the end of your muzzle it should not count as a hit, perhaps they actually need to hit the body of the character.
- Is there really a need for a loading screen in this game? ;) (Though, it is pretty cool!)
- The last thing I would say is when you are shooting the wall, sometimes the balls won't despawn fast enough causing the next ball to not collide with the wall, wasting a shot. This is a bit annoying when you are about to be crushed by the wall and you have to spam to push it back

Really nice game over all!!!

@kippllo Hi there!!! Thank you for taking the time to rite all this down it really means a lot!
So for the first cons:
I think you are totally right! I Thoth that my self! but the game was already published :/
2º:
You right! The game does n´t need a loading screen... i put it there for the tutorial! but in the next game i will make it in a different way!
3º:
That was there on purpose! Its to make the game a little harder! But you are right! It gets a little annoying when the wall is very close! so my idea is to make the player able to catch the bullets! that way the problem is solved! Thank you for your time! it really helped me grow as a programmer!

Nice little game ! I love how you made the game look and sound nice with clever use of minimalistic assets. There is also some nice visual feedback when you hit the wall or get hit by an enemy, and that makes for a game that is really readable and fun to play.

Regarding the gameplay, it is thematically adequate and never boring. Some other bullet types or ennemies whould have been a great addition, but I understand that your time was limited. All in all, great job !

Cool little game you got here. Fast to handle and a pretty good use of the theme. I think the area where you have to shoot te big pallet should be better hinted because I understood it a bit late in the game. You should try to build on it to make it a more infinite type of gameplay. That's a real promising start, well done!

Not bad for your first published game! You kept it simple yet it worked and it was a bit of fun. The graphics and audio did the job and the core gameplay loop was smooth and responsive. Really the only thing I kinda disliked was the fact your bullets could hit the red and blue balls as well. That could be an additional element of challenge, however, I just personally wasn't a huge fan. Still, solid work on your first published game!

It's a bit unclear at the start what you are supposed to do, but the game is smooth. The loading screen seems unnecessarily long for what is being loaded (and the animation is very strange). The game is basic but has potential if different "balls" were added that had different effects.

Good game. Simple, but well made, pleasant to look at and fun.
Keep up the good work, I am sure you can come up with something even better next time.

A simple, but very enjoyable game. I like your art style: the added 'reflections' really bring the objects to life. Something I did find was that some bullets collided with other things before hitting the wall, yet still pushed it back, despite having very little velocity left; I would therefore suggest having some sort of bool on the bullets to determine if they've already collided with something before the wall. Otherwise, great game! :-)
