Spaceness by themarioga

[raw]
made by themarioga for LD 42 (JAM)

Earth’s atmosphere is increasingly saturated by space junk, so now it is very difficult to launch satellites successfully. Help SpoceX guiding their new rocket into outer space.

A little 2.5D runner against space rubbish.

How to play:

Avoid all the space junk, they turn red when it's near to you.

Okey, i scored 138 and its was nice! You now, fire animation looks like in Doodle Jump. But its good if u do this a bit faster at start ( only my opinion ). Anyway its a nice work !

Interesting idea, I enjoyed it but the beginning, as previous people said, is too slow, so it takes some time until it gets interesting. But then, it's a good and simple game.

Next time add some audio!

It was difficult to understand what was going on at the begining but then it gets more interesting. I also liked the art!

Fun game, got just over 500! Its quite difficult to know when you can or cannot fly over the space junk, but I feel that adds to the fun :)

Well, as previous people said, the idea is interesting but we don't know what to do at the begining unless the counter start.

Then, in my opinion, we don't know how we earn scores at first, do we need to be near to satellites or just avoid them ?

The art is really fun, nice work :)

Where is the audio ? :p

Sorry no audio :( also I think it needs some more feedback, yep... Thanks for the advice!

The 2.5D effect is cool. You could make the farther away objects a different color (atmospheric perspective) to make it clearer where they are along the Z axis. Even though there's not atmosphere in space :P

In theory when the objects come close to the player they turn red, but I think they start changing their color too late so it's hard to avoid them. I'll try to improve that, thanks for the tip.

Nice idea, liked the implementation a lot. Probably a more feedback when the objects get closer would help, also more feedback when hit. The inertial movement added a lot of fun for me.

Really nice concept with 2.5D game. Maybe make movement less flowing, but in overall it's cool entry. Good job!

I think I kept hitting the same object with all 3 of my ships. The game over was abrupt.

I like the visual effect of the objects approaching.

And the hand-drawn art has a nice unique style to it.

As others said I found it a bit slow at the beginning, I could do nothing and just watch it. Did like the style chosen for the visuals. I think if you ramped the speed up by like 200% this would be wacky.

Neat effect at the edges of the screen - it really gave the illusion of depth more than I'd expect. The difficulty was pretty low, combined with a slow pace meant it was tough to stay engaged. Cool 2.5d work though!

really enjoyed the edge effect you are created - the game was pretty slow though - i think if it was sped up it would be better - good game
