Description

You're a Slime Slayer. Your work is simple - kill any slimes that you encounter. But there is something wrong with them. They drop so much loot that you can't even pick up all of it. They are comming for you from the moment you entered this "Green Forest". There is so many of them that the only thing you can do is throw all of dropped loot at them as fast as possible. You're the only one who can stop them!

I'm not sure I get the gameplay? I can't seem to survive past the second slime.
Is there a way to use the potions to heal? Because the slime just keeps hitting me and by the time I've thrown enough weapons at it to kill the first slime, I'm almost dead so the second one one shots me.

Slimes spawn randomly. There is 5 of them. Each one has diffrent color and stats (damage that is also random number picked from specified range and attack cooldown - this one isn't random). Green slime is the weakest one. Potions work only as weapons because I've been afraid that i won't complete this game on time. The key to be OP is throw everything you have on start and then spam stones as fast as you can :) When you kill first slime get the best items that he drops (because they also have diffrent stats and damage picked randomly from specified range) and repeat the process. I know that it may seem hard on first, but it is really easy game. (Best tip i can give you - Mace has the most certain damage).

Amazing graphics! very nice music too. The darg and drop not always worked for me. Nice idea and implementation, good job!

Can spam throw stones :D

Nice clean visuals

At first I was abit lost on how to damage the slimes and what potions do, but once figured it was a fun game

between fights you can throw all the loot into the scene at the slime and as spawns it is immediately killed :P

No high score or level progression unfortunately – Maybe a different position on the map, or a boss slime

If I will have enough motivation this game will be expanded for sure. Graphics are very easy to make, so I may make some kind of map with progression, other enemies and bosses.

This game plays fantastically, the visuals and sounds and UX are all top shelf. The only thing that bugged me was, after a few slimes, it got pretty repetitive. It never felt like I had too little space, as long as I made sure to fill up after killing a slime. Do the colored potions have different effects on different slimes? If they did, I never noticed since I was just trying to fling as much crap at these blobs before they could kill me. Still, great game! Very polished.

The music is awesome, really moody and medieval.

The loot mechanic is also very clever, but maybe not intuitive.
Sometimes I felt like the thrown object was missing the target even if was well aimed.

Stunning graphic and very professional UI
The game is well theme fitting.

4 stars overall! Have a nice day

Looks beautiful and great music. I like the loot theme. Great job!

Gentle criticism now:
I could have done with more feedback when getting taking damage, a red flash, sound effect, etc.
Couldn't figure out how to use potions.
I think dragging the icons is not great UI, just clicking on them would have made the gameplay feel smoother IMO.
I think predictable scaling difficulty would be better than random slimes.

Hope that makes sense. Again, very pretty, and great music.

beautiful graphics and music, the gameplay was a little hard though and I couldnt beat more than three slimes (but maybe i'm just bad ), love the polished UI too, clean and correct build for a three day's work !

I really want to play this (it looks fantastic) but I cannot open the .rar file with 7-Zip (it says it's corrupted). Could you please upload a .zip alternative? Thanks!

The game was pretty cool looking the audio fit very well, but I could get past the third slime a guess when you have more time try adding a healing feature(I heard you had little time left).

I love the aesthetics, game looks really good. The menus with button feedback and fading in and out feel really polished.

The gameplay itself is very interesting! Never seen anything like it before. I had fun with it.

I wish I could restart the game faster after dying, though - having to wait for several menu transitions is kind of annoying.

A very well done first Ludum Dare!

@sciman101 For now potions don't have any effects. I'm planning on adding them. The repetitivnes should also be gone because I'm planning on adding some progression, there will be map with few islands in the main menu, each one will have diffrent biome and monsters. Islnads will be made of hex-shaped tiles so one tile is one level with few monsters.
Anyway thanks for your opinion!

@memel06 There is few ways the weapon could miss the slime but I will be fixing that.
Thanks for playing!

@agwblack I was thinking about that red flash effect but haven't done it because of too little time. It will be added in the future because im planning on expanding this game. Sound effects will also be made from scratch by me so feedback will be much better. Same thing with potion effects (there is none currently). In terms of UI - just clicking wouldn't be that engaeging as drag and drop.
Thanks for your feedback!

@even-games It seems hard for the first time but when you figure out how the game works (weapons damage and slime types) it gets really easy.
Thanks for playing!

@bradleypollard Use winrar, it's free.

@yamiog There is "healing feature". After each slime you kill you get 10hp back :D I'm planning to maybe do some real healing using potions.
Thanks for your comment!

@iamsodarncool I'm planning to add more stuff to the game as well as some new mechanics to make it more interesting. Restart button is probably also a good idea.
Thanks for your feedback!

Hey, cool art but I couldn't really seem to do anything. My suggestion would be to include instructions! I know you included it on the page here, but I didn't read any of it before hopping in.

@baronb It will be included in the next update that I'm working on right now.

A fun little game where you throw everything you got (literally) at the enemy. The graphics are splendid and reminds me of games like Besiege and TABS. The music is very good. Overall this game is very satisfying to play.
But if I were to suggest an improvement it would be on the drag and drop controls. It would be nice to also have the option to simply click instead of drag and drop (for the lazy people), as it would be faster. Right now the icons can sometimes be too small and when you miss it, you don't realize until you've dragged your mouse very far, and that causes you to miss your attack.

The gameplay is interesting. The animations and graphics loook good. The music creates a little tense atmosphere, which is suitable for your game. No potion that can heal player is strange, however make player restore some health after slaying each slime alleviate that problem a bit. Moreover I think it would be better if player's performance can be measured by some scores or levels, otherwise the game looks like endless and gives no feedback on how well players play.

@bloc97 In terms of drag and drop I'm thinking about making items bigger so it will be easier to throw them. If it will not fix the problem I might consider removing drag and drop to see how it will play. Thanks for your feedback!

@atom0520 I'm working on an update right now so the game will have progression system and won't be endless. Thanks for playing!

Really cool graphics and the music creates a nice ambient. I also really like the simplicity of the combat system. I'd like there to be some very easy fights at the beginning so that you can get used to the system and learn what stuff is effective against what slimes. As it stands, you die very quickly without much of a chance to learn. Cool concept though and it was fun to play! Also a very nice level of polish, which is always impressive in a game jam. Great work!

Having to throw your inventory out at the enemy is a very cool idea and is built upon by the need to loo your inventory.

I think the issue that held the game back for me was the lack of any conveyance. Nothing really has any impact. I don't think there's any sort of sound effect for hitting the enemy or any sound of getting hit or any numbers flying off enemies to make it clear how much damage I'm doing. Because it lacks this feedback I don't feel as though I'm winning or losing, just that stuffs happening. Furthermore, not much is explained. I had/have no idea if the damage I'm doing is determined by a way I throw or just completely random, though it feels random. Can I use potions? If so, how? I tried dragging then onto my hp bar and that didn't work. Then when the looting popped up I wasn't sure if I was meant to drag the items down to my inventory because there was no sign to, and dragging a potion to my hp bar didn't work so why would this. Then when my inventory was full, I didn't know if that were the case or if I just missed with my dropping or something because there is no sign that it's full.

In terms of it's idea the game is interesting, the music is good, and visually it's quite stunning. However, mechanically, as much potential as it has for fast paced strategy everything just feels so random which I think is the result of so much confusion.

@wheffle I will add some kind of tutorial at the beginig, so the player can pratice there before the real challange. Thanks for playing!

@brandon-js-lea I know there is very little visual and sound feedback now but I will be wokring on that. Potions work only as weapons for now but they will be expanded in near future too. Tutorial will be added for sure. Thanks for your feedback! Really apprieciate it! First post-LD verison should arrive next week, so if you are interested in playing it, check this site next weekend.

Fun game! It's interesting, I actually haven't seen all that many games use inventory space as the relation to this jam's theme. Combat is pretty funny, though I'd make the throw/drag zones bigger if you can (and extend to the very edges of the screen, to give maximum room for mouse movement error) so that you can quickly interact with the game in the way that's intended. Also please make your green slimes darker, I'm colorblind and can't tell the difference between green and yellow ones (the tooltips are helpful, but not during combat). This game has a very nice cinematic style, I'd love to see this concept expanded! Overall great work!

Nice fast-paced fun gameplay. If you've done the art yourself within 72 hours then you are an amazing graphical artist.

Although very enjoyable, I didn't understand the purpose of the different potions. In the midst of the fast-paced gameplay, I may have missed some key information about the loot.
