Once you get used to the movement this game can be quite fun. Great job!

I couldn't figure out where the wizard was to fight them, and I didn't seem to have lightning to do it anyway. Still, I enjoyed the game :)

interesting game... the movement was disoratanting to an extent... took a few plays to figure out how to move/etc.
once I figured it out... standard MMO kite and attack until I got lighting to attack with... ended up having to spam through the cards just so i had room for new ones (so the junk ones didn't keep me from getting stuff that did thigns).

Beated it! I find the camera angle a bit awkward initially. As @incobalt, I spent some time looking for the wizard -- until I understood it exists in a different place (so to speak). The music was nice, created a good mood. Very stable, I didn't see any glitches.

Really cool and neat idea. A bit hard to control but it fits the theme pretty well.

I agree that the controls are not optimal. I think it would be better if this was a mouse based control-scheme. Like, click where you want to go, click on an enemy to attack. The game would probably still be hard enough. :)
That being said, I like the mood of your game and the general idea.

A card / battle royale game. You mixed those genres well, and everything was well done. My few criticisms would be that there should be something to tell you to look for the wizards, and that the turning responsiveness was a bit off. Initially, I thought that wizards would spawn after a certain number of waves, and I couldn't aim well because I couldn't stop turning at least semi-instantly. Other than that, I enjoyed myself!

the spinning camera makes me nauseous

Took me a while to figure out how to shoot, but I think that was just my not reading the instructions right. I also wasn't able to find the wizard. Once I got the hang of balancing using my cards and shooting it got kind of fun, but the discrete turns made aiming pretty tough. It would help a lot to make the turns smoother.

Finished it. It was very entertaining! Enjoyed playing it and I value good gameplay experiences in this contest.

I reread the instructions and tried everything I could, but couldn't seem to attack. I'm not sure if I just missed something. The gameplay is actually an interesting blend of genres, and seems pretty fun. But I just had no idea how to kill things.

The camera is definitely rotating too fast, but other than that, a great game. It would be nice to see any other cards played by the wizard, except of spawning the minions, so that it look like an actual card game, but I totally enjoyed what is implemented there already. Oh, and the wizard impersonations are great btw!

@David-Boeger You need to use a card to equip a weapon.

Took me a while to figure out all the subtle hints on the screen (dots for showing where enemies are, wave spawn indicators, remaining ammo etc) but that didn't stop me from winning the game! All in all a very good execution and game all together. The rotation with A/D was a bit too fast for my taste but other than that I really enjoyed playing the game! The sounds gave a nice ambient to the game, thus setting the mood very well! A very good game!

P.S. I think I found a bug: If you've capped your HP and you activate the card that increases your max HP by 5 temporarily, after the effect ends you're no longer at the max HP cap, but 5 below that

that was a fun experience! Managed to get to the end credits and had a lot of fun while doing this. The controls could be a bit more precise, but I had no problems controlling the vacuum cleaner like robot. Graphics and sound were very good, too. One of the best games I played this LD so far. One minor thing: the game balance was a bit too easy, and most of the cards did not have any effect once you maxed out life and mana, so you were just constantly cycling for weapons and lightnings. Great job!

A saw all the discarded pixel art shields and was sad for the fallen eight-bit heros who went before.
