Angry Planet by grllle
Important: 1. I uploaded a second webGL version, where i ramped up the volume a bit. Nothing else altered. Download versions are the original ones., the original webGl version is available too 2. Play in fullscreen. Everything is a little bit tiny otherwise. 3. Read the short instructions below. No time for ingame instructions.
You are a adorable little Planet floating through space, full of valuable resources.
But be aware! Some greedy colonists just discovered you and are coming for your precious entrails!
Fight them off, as long as you can!!
Instructions:
- You can rotate: Press LMB and move mouse
- You can shake: shake mouse (without pressing LMB)
- You can move clouds: LMB click on a cloud, with pressed LMB you can move the cloud!
You can charge clouds to release thunder & lightning: While holding down LMB on a cloud, shake the mouse to charge a cloud
Colonists wandering on your surface will deplete your resources over time. Get lost of them!
- You can shake colonists off, but only those on the bottom!
- Colonists will construct buildings, gathering even more resources! Those can only be destroyed by lightning!

About:
This was more like a 24h jam for me. Because off my two lovely children. And the lovely weather... Therefore i couldn't finish quite a few wanted features (vulcanos as weapons e.g. :( ) but anyway... I hope some off you will enjoy it nevertheless. I'm looking forward to play your games!!
How: - Unity 2019 - Hand drawn sprites via light table and scanner - Sfx via mic & garageband - Ambient Sounds via field recording - Music via Moog Sub37 & garageband

Have a cookie mister!
Thank your very much for this gem!
One of the most interesting games of this compo, well done.
Interesting way of making the graphics and they look really well. I did not notice the bird sounds until after I played the game though. (Could maybe be made a bit louder)
Moving the clouds felt really slow, but we could just shake the whole planet, so I did that most of the time instead. :)
The graphics are beautiful and unique, the sounds are so fitting (Great ambient noise), and shaking people off the bottom of the planet is both humorous, and makes fun noises!
Something you might want to consider adding if you keep developing this:
I kept looking at that one meteor just floating around and thinking, "I sure wish I could use that."
Actually the music is quite low in the mix (even with headset and volume 100%) but the moog sound is always a good choice!
Felt the time ticked by quite quickly and things got out of control fast, but think with a bit more time I would get a the hang of it!
Great submission, thanks!
I only found the control to be a little finicky with the mouse shaking. And a little background music would have been nice.
Great job!
(disclaimer - I played with a track-pad making the gestures slightly more difficult)
Although I looked it up in the description, I could not find out how to really succeed at this game. Maybe you could have pointed that out in-game.
I think,if you had more time to polish to game, this would have become a real burner -- although it's already exciting!
Unusual concept and design, liked shaking colonists off a lot (though felt a bit sorry for them), charging clouds feels good too (is there a way to get new clouds?)
I think, it would make a big difference if you scale everything up to a degree you could see the colonists and their faces
The graphics of this style is certainly charming
Keep it up!
Edit: thinking about it, this game very strongly captures the feeling of when you're a kid and you turn yourself upside and are afraid of falling into the sky. Turns out the planet's been rooting for that to happen.
