I was attracted by the art and I can't wait to play it!

Love the art and the music! I could stare and listen to this game for a long time.

Ahh. The Beret Ghost is too difficult! Wish there was some lenience with missing a beat - the difficulty ramps up on that screen quite steeply and I was hoping to get past it and see what other assets you had created. Have you uploaded the source anywhere? Great job on the art.

@eriku I agree it gets extremely difficult and no indicator when you get it right or wrong. But I love the art style and music!

Yeah particles to show it more explicitely would have been added with a little more time, as well as more balanced difficulty haha. I uploaded a easier difficulty version for those who wants to check out the whole game.

I am in love with the art style and the music! It was a little frustrating that you only get one miss and it starts you all the way at the beginning, but the music made it worth it. My only regret is that some of the stages so short, you don't get to hear that variation of the song. :)

I also really liked the subtle bump when you hit each note. Great visual feedback without ruining the mood.

I am a little confused on the incompatible genres though... Is it that spooky games aren't typically rhythm? I dunno, I'm kind of reaching... My only other wish was that I could spend more time looking at what was going on rather than staring at the bottom for the note bars. I totally missed the plot twist that you mentioned. :(

All in all, the game was very fun and I liked it a lot. Even though it was pretty hard!

Thanks, it worked!
The game is absolutely adorable, although the rhytm game needs some polish. Button promts are not intuitive enough to understand quickly what type of pressing is needed. And sadly, because of the constant need to be focused, it's easy to miss superb assets, they're as good as music.

A really pretty game that has atmosphere in heaps. As some above have mentioned, the timing in the rhythm aspects feels off at times, but it doesn't mar the overall experience too much. Great seeing a solid vision like this come to life. Very awesome and the music is also brilliant.

The game is gorgeous and easy to listen to (which is quite important for a rhythm game). It has a few issues like the lack of feedback for the player when he makes a good move or the steep difficulty curve (I wasn't able to finish the boss fight even though I really wanted to find out about that plot twist that you advertised)! It's also a single genre game as far as I can see (please correct me if I'm wrong) but I liked it.

Nice graphics and music. It is a shame the rhythm is at the bottom and not incorporated into the game more. This way I looked at the bottom bar all the time and could not enjoy the animations and immerse myself :)
Btw the big ghost is still quite difficult IMHO.

Great work!

Great artwork and music. Very nice concept, just wish there was more rhythm mechanics in the game, but so good for a gamejam. Good work keep it up!

@LemonBalmGames There is a feedback for the player, it's the screen shake :D And it's supposed to be blended with sneak game, the ghosts were supposed to make you lose, but due to lack of time, i couldn't add this feature. :c Thank you for playing it !

@pavel-smejkal Yeah i know, again the scope was a big too big, the idea was first that the elements of the background would move to the rythym to show it to you, but due to a lack of time it hasn't made it to the final build. And for the difficulty you can skip notes to take only the easy ones haha.

Love the style and the animation of the main character! I got a bit distracted since i wanted to look at the art more than the rythm section.

Nice game overall, cool art and music.
Though, the difficulty curves is too insane and I didn't notice any difference between the two version.

Congratulation !

@MiracL Thank you for playing ! In the V2 you can take 3 hits instead of being one shotted, which makes the game easier.

the game is missing feedback, i don't understood when i was getting the time right and when my timing was wrong, so i am dying and don't know why. The game looks beautiful.

The art and music was great and tied in well with the rhythm part of the game. I really enjoyed playing this, but I was confused on why I perished in the same spot for multiple plays. Though I went with the rhythm, am I supposed to let bars go past me if the ghost isn't properly turned around?

Very lovely game you've made here. You've created a wonderful atmosphere with very cute graphics. Overall really enjoyed it! my only criticism is that i wasn't exactly sure at first how to avoid the ghosts but I got it eventually.
Keep it up!

The art, the style, and the humor are great, I really like the gameplay but it lacks a bit of feedback and the difficulty curve is a bit too steep. I really deeply enjoy the art style and the overall presentation!

I loved the art and the music, but the gameplay felt odd. I did not feel like pressing the buttons at tempo, and I didn't know if I was pressing it correctly or not.

The game could be a lot better because the idea is cool and the artistic part is awesome but it seems a bit poor technically.

I like the art style going on. The rhythm mechanic was fairly straightforward, but the difficulty shot up out of nowhere on the boss. A bit more feedback on button presses would be nice. It was a little jarring how the music cut from one scene to the next, especially with still being able to see notes coming your way. I'm not sure what the other genre apart from rhythm was though, it didn't seem to affect gameplay. Overall a really cool entry though, nice work!

Yeah, amazing aesthetics, the difficulty spiked too hard, and I was following the visuals more that feeling the rythm, which is always bad in a rythm game. The art is outstanding. If the music was easier to follow and the difficulty smoother this would be a lot more amazing than it already is.

I really liked the art, kinde cute, however during the gameplay the player doesn't have enough feedback of his actions, i didn't know i was doing bad untill i lost.

I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. The overall aesthetic is lovely, but the game play mechanic can be a little confusing. One small gripe of mine is that the UI doesn't scale with screen resolution resolution. Great tunes and visuals, though.

I really enjoyed the art in this game. I also thought the light emission behind some of your animations were a nice addition. The game play left something to be desired, but you had enough put into the art that I didn't mind starting over so much. Great submission!

Nice Game ! I love the art, the concept, and the music !
I think you shouldn't make a perma death for one mistake, thats a bit punitive ! I was wondering all the game if i should focus on the beats or on your beautiful graphics, but the game is hard and the death too punitive, so I focused on the little bar instead of the scene.

Anyway, huge game, good realization, this deserve a 5/5 overall !

Good job! Cool game!

I found it difficult to identify if I was hitting, but I found it very interesting how the game progresses.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

This is a really solid game! I love witches, and while it was a bit frustrating starting over from the beginning, I think I'll be returning to this game multiple times to work my way through it--the atmosphere that the art and music make is so immersive.

This was really pretty and enjoyable, but the single fail lose condition made me gave up before I otherwise would have.
