You've been sent to investigate a strange signal by the comet-stranded Rosetta module, but something's wrong! Aliens swarm the comet and it's time for you to make your escape.

You can play the game at https://lukedev.itch.io/comet-escape-ld38

It's my first time participating in Ludum Dare, so I just aimed to make a simple platformer, and simple it ended up being -- not much more complicated than what I originally set out to make. It's been a rough 48 hours, but I learned plenty enough. Biggest regret was not having enough time/willpower to work on animations. That's definitely something that hurts.

While there were some clear issues with the controls that made it really hard to jump this was overall a pretty good game!

Nice entry! :) Hats off for doing everything by yourself, even an atmospheric soundtrack! :) Nice graphics! Controls accelerate to slow and are dampened to little for my taste, but it suits a robot, I guess! ;) Cute little story, but I didn't really feel the theme in this.

I *won* \o/ at the third try. Nice surprise in the middle segment! :) The jump-and-shoot mechanic feels a little Megaman-like.

Bug: On "game over", you can still move around for a few seconds, but the menu also appears. If you click on "new game" at this point, the game will restart again after a short time. Also, I think not all enemies respawn? Or was that just me shooting them dead from a distance? :)

Good game! The movement is a bit slidy and unresponsive, and I think aiming would be better if it followed the mouse rather than movement. Otherwise, it's a fun game! The size change was surprising and kind of funny in a surrealistic way. Graphics look pretty nice, and the sounds serve their purpose.
