A horror maze dance-off? Damn man, what an idea! Haha, had me laughing on the floor by the time I realized what was going on, sounds was also done well enough to create the tension one would expect.

I threw away my laptop the first time I encountered the monster. Too scary for me. :D Anyway, next time I was prepared and faced my fears and started dancing. :D I found a switch but I have no clue what it did. I suppose it opened up some way in the maze, but I just couldn't find anything.
You did a great job on the graphics and the sounds, it created a nice atmosphere of a mix between a cheerful dancing game and a scary horror game with a lot of tension. :) Very well done!

This game.. this bloody game.. XD Honestly, how did you even think of this. I thought it was a horror/maze/puzzle game and was like "I like horror games, let's test this". I started hearing the monster and was like "yeah, come on, where are you". Saw him, thought "huh, not as scary as I thought he'd be" AND THEN HE STARTED DANCING!!!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL XD XD XD

Went from being a little bored to scared to laughing all in about three seconds when I first saw the monster. Great work on the audio.

If I were to find a problem with it, it would be that I stuck to the walls a bit.

I actually liked graphics a lot, it has some Witness vibes and this is amazing. But I think you should have made some kind of darker environment for the horror game. Perhaps same location but at night would be truly terrifying!

This is a very fun game, and the idea for the game is pretty interesting. The dance of system is a bit unclear, and I am never sure when I have done it right or wrong. But both the music and the graphic is really good. Overall is this a very well made LD game. Well done.

OMG this is great  I was just somewhat disappointed that the plague doctor guy didn't stab you if you didn't do his bidding.

Solid try, but I didn't really feel like I was dancing, so that kind of killed it for me to some degree.

Very nice ambiance for a compo game ! With sound spatialization, pretty impressive. Maybe the monster appeareance could have been a li'l bit spookier/jumpscare-ish, to add more contrast with the dance-off fight. Plus a camera feedback when we dance, like moving in the key direction we hit, could give a little more game feel

Ha, that was... interesting. :P I'm not sure if I was succeeding or failing at the dance part, but other than that the presentation is nice. Made me chuckle. :)

0 points for the theme because to me this is just a horror game (I have a recurring nightmare about being forced to dance at some sort of family function). Just kidding! I think that the theme is the strongest part of Dancemazing. Plus, you've managed to convey a lot of humor with just game mechanics. I almost bursted out laughing after my first encounter with the monster :)

A well executed mashup! Died unexpectedly during the second encounter. It was really fun nonetheless!

Cool game, the opponents do give that little scare and feel scary. As for critique, you should have some sort of feedback if I have succeeded with the dance moves or not, suddenly dying was weird and would like smoother movement as well. But good job! :)

This game is weird, but I don't know if it's a good kind of weird or a bad kind of weird.

The graphics are relatively simple, but very well-made. They have a smooth, seamless look that reminded me somewhat of The Witness. The main audio track was also amazing. The music feels slightly alien, and after hearing it for a while, it made me feel slightly... uneasy (for the lack of a better word).

The idea is unique and odd, which is both a blessing and a curse. You can mildly tell it's supposed to be a dancing/horror game, but I feel like the main mechanics of both could've been explored better to fully express it. The atmosphere - except from the music - feels too cheery to be a horror game (might be just me; I don't get scared quickly), but the music doesn't entirely fit with being a dancing game either. It's missing some sort of rhythm or beat to tap the arrows to.

The sense of humor of the game was great, and I like how you dared to combine those two ideas, so props for that. For a Ludum Dare, it's definitely not a bad game. In fact, I'd say it's top 20% of the games I've seen so far. Well done!

Aaaaah a horror game? Well it kinda scared the **** out of me, when I met that black character, but I didn't relay understand, how to dance with arrows, I tryed pressing the arrows on the screen but it didn't work and I died. Otherwise, realy interesting game and a very crazy combination of I'm guessing: dance and horror?

Your game has wonderfully constructed atmosphere. I adore the witness-que art style. Ambience is great in creating tension and sounds the monster make while moving disturbing and frightening. Maze could have had some landmarks or little variation to hedges. Something to give player sense of direction and to navigate with. At point I felt almost like I had explored the whole maze (and found the switch) and had nothing left to do. Probably I was just going in circles, although I used the classic hug-left/right-wall method. Game mechanics could use more work on too. I didn’t understand keeping quiet concept, as player character didn’t make any noise (footsteps etc). Also you just crouch all the time, there is no point not to. Dancing portion didn’t clearly give any feedback whether or not you actually pressed correct button on correct time. Overall atmosphere was so well done that I really enjoyed my short playthrough despite few flaws. Great job!

The vibe of the visuals, audio and gameplay together was great, and the mix of the genres is daring.

I would have prefered a slightly easier maze, because the monster really mess with your mind ^^
Perhaps don't reset the lever on the right when you get caught ?

Anyway, excellent entry, there is a before and an after you meet the monster :)

Interesting. I assumed that "dance game" meant "rythm game" but that was not really the case. Good work.

Liked the game.
If I had to point something out would be the ambience. Game looked too colorful for a horror game, but besides that everything was ok.

The graphics are fine! It reminds me maze levels of the witness a lot. It's a good thing and a bad thing at the same time :) It would be cool to see how you will develop your own unique artstyle.

That gameplay contrast feels sooooooooooooooo off and creepy (in a good way!). Also the contrast of safeness and vulnerability is uncomfortable and greatly reveals the mood and the theme, supported by ambient music and sound design as well!

It is unfortunate I couldn't make it to the end, cause monster respawn point is so close it's almost infinite dance battle (you can't hide from) that becomes repetative and unwinnable. Three attempts but same result :(
