Angry Mountain by Samuel Fine

[raw]
made by Samuel Fine for LD 43 (JAM)

The mountain is angry. Wecret Raccoon's friend just wants to watch his stories. Something (Wecret) has got to give (something) (to the mountain) (so it quiets down.)

This game ended up being like 75% of what I hoped for. The models are real rough, there's no animation or music, and some of the, er, gameplay is missing. But I learned a lot about Unity, and I had fun, so I'm calling it a win.

🦝🦝🦝

MISSING: - The inventory system just barely missed the deadline, so the game is more of a Hoverboarding Mountain Simulator. - Audio / music. I have a few bits ready but don't know enough about Unity's audio systems yet! - There was going to be a goat.

Built with Unity, 3D models made in Google Blocks, all graphics, code, and writing - for better or worse - by Sam (me).

A fun and cute little game, and the lack of animations added to the absurdity of a raccoon on a hoverboard. Despite the missing stuff I could still see where you were going with it, and you did a nice job with the time you had!!

Great concept, shame you couldn't add all of the features. Had some issues with clipping. Let me know if you release a finished version in the future.

Dope. Almost can't imagine it having all the animations, it's just so funny without.

Very funny concept and dialog, especially the mountain's ultimate demand. Hoverboarding mechanic was fun. Great writing, was a fun experience!

I had a lot of fun jumping the raccoon off of the volcano. Nice start.

@twenty5clocks Yeah! I also didn't have time to get gravity working right with my player controller, so the hoverboard does a bit more hovering than one might expect.

"I'll take two" "You can take one" cracked me up. I tried to sacrifice myself in the mountain but the hoverboard is clearly made of strong stuff

You definitely nailed the humor part! I had to chuckle at most. Also, like others have mentioned, a raccoon on a hover board is just brilliant. I have to also point out that you were able to do this by yourself in a weekend, I think that's awesome, well done. Would love to see your next project!! :)

I have a suggestion if the raccoon on a hoverboard was animated the game would be much better. ;)

Nice graphics and very funny. However, I think gravity in this game is kinda weird. All in all, very good.

I was wondering why I couldnt pick up any items but then I read you didnt have time for inventory system. Does seem unfinished, but I like the low poly raccoon. Good job.

Well I certainly enjoyed the hell out of that writing. :)

Sounds to me like this was a great learning experience for you and using Unity. That's awesome! I remember my first few project with Unity were a LOT worse than this, so I'd say you're off to a great start!

I wish you had more time to finish it! I love racoons and I was curious if the mountain would explode if I found enough popcorns. :)
