SpaceBase LD39 by Jason Lothamer

[raw]
made by Jason Lothamer for LD 39 (COMPO)

As a raw cadet on your first day at SpaceBase LD39 you never thought the fate of the entire station would be in your hands! But here you are, in command of the only turret on this lonely outpost swarming with asteroids and hostile aliens bent on destroying the only bastion of civilization for parsecs - and you along with it! And to top it off the generator is on the fritz! So with every laser bold used, you step ever closer to running out of power! Tractor up as many power cores to maintain power to keep the shields and turret functional!!

It's a good mechanic that you can destroy your own energy cells, and the collection of them as well. As a suggestion it would be nice if the enemies would spawn out of the screen. :)

Adding a score or some sort of timer for how long you need to survive would give players some sort of a goal to work towards to. I like the flavor text at the beginning and tutorial was easy to understand.

@Xarras - that's a good idea. The original idea was that the enemy's were warping in but I didn't have time to implement that. @vizitas - that too is a good idea. I wanted to implement a level or wave system, but also ran out of time for that. I think I'll update the game after the voting is done with these and other ideas! Thanks to everyone for trying my game! Feed back appreciated!

Pretty nice game. It was cool to have to avoid shooting the powercores, made you have to really think about your shots. Also if you were nearly full on power you wanted to avoid collecting the cores yet since you would waste some power, but then they had more opportunity to be shot. Would be great to expand on this game with more ideas and content!
