Who Z For Dinner by talisra22

[raw]
made by talisra22 for LD 42 (JAM)

Stay alive, kill zombies, and don't fall! Get the highest score in this zombie killing survival game in... a kitchen with your bunny hat and giant slipper gun? Have fun!

Controls:

Mouse to aim

Mouse 1 to shoot

W, A, S, D - directional movement

Warning!

Unfortunately we have a game breaking bug that we weren't able to fix in time - infinite loop on the last tile falling. So if you don't want the game to crash, jump into the void before the last tile falls then you can etch your birth right on the legendary hall of fame leaderboard.

Fun game. Liked shooting the zombies, only thing is that I think the movement and shoot animations are kind of annoying, other than that, great game!

Great entry, really cool that you implemented a global leaderboard. Unfortunatly I had a minor error, enemies would no longer spawn after I died once. But that's no big deal, all I needed to do was restart the game. The overall experience was still great!

And oh boy was it a funky experience, the over-the-top wobbling and overall feel is just perfect!

Awesome. I really like how the game turned out. Graphics are great as well as gameplay. Even so music is opped out, I really love, how you added some metal in the game.

The animations really make the characters pop and the metal soundtrack was over-the-top. Met the error as mentioned above as well, where enemies stopped spawning. Fun game, wished that the shooting action was faster though.

Beware, there's a bug that will crash your game. To avoid the bug while we are working on fixing it. You have to jump into the void before all of the tiles get destroyed. We are sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you guys for the feedback! We are definitely working on the bugs. Though our programmer is busy right now. We already have a post jam version up, which a lot nicer to play. If you did enjoy the game, you should check that out. Otherwise, please rate our jam entry version. Thank you again and have an awesome day!

Neat entry, this shooter was simple but fun, I would play a full version if it existed.

@agwblack I was finally able to upload a web build, you should be able to play it now. Though I uploaded the newer version, so you shouldn't rate us, but we'll be happy to hear if you have any feedback!

Fun game, nice graphics and sounds. A little bit monotone.

But overall is good. I like it. :v

Really good looking game. Loved how the character was jumping around with the music. The enemy disappearing animation was quite neat too. Would like to see this finished!

Thanks a lot @nufflee . The thing unique about this game is that the player doesn't have health. The player's health is the level. We can do a lot with that and we will.

I really liked the graphics of this game, with the wonky 'animations'. I assume those are more of a time choice than a design choice, but it is pretty cool none the less.

Great game, I really liked the aesthetics (I'm a huge low-poly/voxel fan myself). The first few waves could be cleared by just staying in one place, but then the action got real. Good job!
Oh, and the music suits perfectly even if it's outsourced :)

Whow, the art style is awesome. I love the juiciness in each shoot, however I do think that could be toned down just a touch, especially the shooting animation of the character. The game feels a little bit low paced for me, possibly because you started out with a small map and the speed of tiles dropping is slowly increasing. Idk if you have tested this on a larger map but to me that and increasing the tile dropping speed could make the game pace become faster - just my 2 cents. Otherwise, love the sound track and the shooting is just so juicy, control is responsive, a very fun game overall. Good job!

The music is really good and I think it goes well with the game! Graphics are cool and it's fun to push around to physics objects! Only "negative" thing I have to say that the shooting and moving animations maybe I little too exaggerated. But overall a really fun game!

Nice game! I realised that it was fairly easy to avoid the falling tiles by just standing the the corner where the walls meet and shooting zombies. I didn't manage to hop down in time to avoid the game crash, but whatever. Nice game.

Got a score of 60000 before I ran into the crash bug. My table fort was neigh-impenetrable.
