Hello fellow Ludum Dare-ians!

It has been a couple LD-Jams since I took part, or even programmed a game for that matter; never mind having some finished that I could upload at the end of it. For my first time every I partnered with some friends from work to undertake in the Jam side of things instead of the compo; and that was the best choice that I've made.

So we present to you Miserable Morene and the Raiders of the Gold Blum, between balancing working during the jam and watching my kids, me and my colleagues decided to keep it simple, and I think we managed to finish a pretty cohesive little game.

Thank you for checking out our page; I hope you take the time to download the game, try it out, and leave some votes and / or feedback!

Hope you had yourselves great Ludum Dare as well! - Damon 'Izunah' Verreault

Have you coded alone all the game?

@budark Yes, I did all the coding myself, my collaborators did the art and the music for the game, but the design was largely my own and the coding fully my own.

Frantic gameplay, left/right mouse button thing felt simple yet fresh. Really good music. Interesting graphics style. Those double color girls just break my brain, not sure if adding them is good for gameplay.

Simple mechanics, but gameplay is very good, nice and funny game.

Wow, great work! The game itself is very simple but you iterated on the concept really nice with the combo streaks and the eventual enemies with multiple bars of health but of different colors. My only suggestion would be to add a little more description to the "How to play" screen. I didn't immediately understand that you had to click on the enemies directly instead of waiting until they were in front of me and just clicking anywhere. Overall, fun game, good job!

Positives
- Score is really clear
- Decent "level" texture
- Nice menu design, and peculiarly interesting audio volume options
- Simple mechanics that take a simple concept quite far. Very good idea.
- Nice chaining idea
- Music is aptly fast-paced but quickly gets too repetitive

Improvements
- A bit difficult to read instructions
- Right-click on my touchpad is not working
- Music didn't actually loop?
- Sometimes difficult to read chaining text.

Overall
- A very good idea and I think you pulled it off well. I think this game can do
with a little bit more variety, and, of course, right-click working on touchpads.
- Quite funny, actually.

Great stuff, keep it up!

Very cool concept for the theme. Since I think this concept is really good and had fun playing it, I only have points of improvement that are based on my personal preference. One thing I would like is some feedback whether I am actually hovering over an enemy, so that I am sure my attack will succeed. A little larger hitbox would also be welcome, but maybe you think the game is too easy that way. Also an GUI element showing what my current chain is and how long it is bellow the score would make it easier to keep track of my chain. Without those things this is already a very good Jam game with good polish, so I would like to see an even better version in the future!

I failed the Gold Blum! The different colored bars on enemies are such a great idea. I love it! After a while it becomes pretty difficult to not get your fingers confused. Well done! I agree with others here, that larger hitboxes would be good. That, or have a more prominent feedback on whether player actually hits the enemy or not. Also I heard some clipping in the background(?) sound and I am pretty sure its not my speakers, but that did not stop me from playing again!

Good fast paced action game, difficulty progresses very fast in my opinion, i'm losing every time when enemies with 3 hp starts to appear.
