Welcome to Platform Assembly! An Outperformer Idle Platformer!

As you would expect, Platform Assembly mixes the Platformer and the Idle Clicker genres. Because of those pesky time zones and weekdays, all of the art and coding for the game was done in 48 hours. And we had a lot of fun in the process!

CONTROLS:

In Platform Assembly you don’t control the character, instead you’ll have to buy the actions it will perform throughout the level using the money it makes by advancing or collecting coins.

There are 4 types of actions at your disposal:

Jump: Make your character soar over obstacles and enemies.

Sprint: Give a speed boost to your character for longer jumps.

Reverse: Change your character’s direction to explore new horizons.

Wall Jump: Reverse and Jump at the same time. From a wall!

To place actions, click on them through the shop and place them on the floor and walls. To destroy a bought action on the map, press right click over it.

We’re a group of five 2nd year Videogame design students from Spain, and we joined this LDJam as our first project together in preparation for this year’s final project. We hope you like it!

We do not own the song used in the game and all sound effects are copyright free. The awesome track used is from Inspector Norse by Todd Terje.

I got a bit stuck after the walljump part... The idea was neat tho!

Keep up the great work!

IMPORTANT: We forgot to mention that the button on the top right of the HUD changes the camera from the Player to a Draggable free camera. Also the sull on the bottom right kills your character if he's stuck....

Bit of an oops there. Sorry!

Hey, another TCM students' project! Congratulations for your first entry together! The game is great but has a few bugs that could be fixed quickly.

-Sometimes all works and sometimes doesn't (especially in wall jumps)
-The order of UI layers are

I'm happy to see more students doing a LD project.

Realy love the basic concept of the game. Sadly I got stuck in a endless loop...![endless.PNG](///raw/448/21/z/139f0.png)

That was pretty good! I nonetheless have two complaints:
- The price increase is so steep that you're basically forced to just do dry runs until you get enough money for more stuff. I don't know that that's really necessary.
- There is no way to destroy things you have already placed, which means that sometimes you might not be able to put jumps where they need to be. (Luckily, all of my jumps sort of just magically worked out).

The only other thing I'd like to mention is that for some reason, the level isn't always repeatable--my character would sometimes get killed on certain places, and sometimes not.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay works, even with the problems mentioned, and the graphics and music are good.

Good effort! I like the idea and personally I think it's the kind of game that would do really well if it released on mobile. If it was a game I could come back to throughout the day I feel I would get addicted!

Awesome work! The pairing of platformers and idle clickers works well here. I had fun figuring out where to place the pads and then watching it all unfold. Though I agree with the other comments that the price increase for the pads felt a little steep, and had me waiting around for more money to come in. But that pretty much is what an idle clicker is.

Also loved the aesthetic. Keep up the great work!

This was so much fun to play! I made it in 37 generations. Hahaha. There's probably a more efficient way, but I had fun trying! I liked the animation of the character. You really did well on the theme. It's a very innovative game. Congrats!

Not a bad game. I really would have loved to be able to scroll the screen left and right with A and D, rather than click and drag since I was using the mouse to select and place contraptions. Still, a cool idea and well put together!

Wow, very good and original idea, it becomes a bit repetitive when you need tones of money for buying a anything from the shop but it was a nice experience.

Really enjoyed it, nice idea. Had trouble finding out how to move the camera. Also you can get stuck on the platform at the beginning, if placed in a certain spot. Liked the music and the sound effects too.

Congratulations on first submission!

What I loved
* Combination of both the platform & click aspect worked wonders
* the aesthetic!!

What could be improved
* The price increase was a little meh since it caused me to just wait
* A way to remove already placed objects
* Couldn’t figure out how to move the camera at first.
* Become a little repetitive after a while, maybe add some more objectives to the game?

Thanks for sharing. I’d love for you to try out my game as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/keyboard-warrior

This was a unique concept and I think that there's a lot you can do with it. That said, I think the execution could've used some polish. One example of this is allowing the player to move the camera or delete misplaced platforms. I also think that the player should be allowed to walk into a wall as it lets them get their bearings. Aside from those minor gripes, though, I think this was a cool entry with loads of potential puzzles. Great work!

Congratulations on you first submission! It's a very fun game and would love to play a future and polished version. As of right now I could only play for a short while before suddenly being unable to buy movement pieces. Not sure what happened.

i really liked the combination of platforming and idle clicker. The price increase was a little too rapid since it caused me to just wait.
