Initial impressions: I'd really prefer if you didn't force me into fullscreen mode right at the start, I opened the game and controls.txt at the same time. :( Also I found it quite hard to find what I want in controls.txt, I'd group it by control set (so have the WASD/arrow keys all together). Also the controls item in the menu doesn't appear to work for me.
The game doesn't fully pause when I press pause (projectiles keep moving), not a problem at all, just something I noticed :).
The game was really frustrating...until I discovered I could double jump :D (it wasn't immediately obvious and doesn't say anywhere that this is possible).
I really liked the music and the character art, pity the chest didn't get it's own just-as-pretty-as-everything-else-art. I liked the camera work, didn't notice it at first but it does a good job of showing me what i need/want to see.
Great job all around! Shoot for a bigger project next time. :)
Being able to reflect projectiles(sometimes) was a cool addition too.
I love the unique art style. And the music fit it very nicely too.
