Slotbot Arena by isayneigh

- Prototype SHMUP following the Ludum dare 44 theme: Your Life is Currency!
Fight in an arena against other robots. All coin operated (weird huh?)

Your starting form won't be enough. Exchange bodies with enemies you've defeated to revive life and boost your power!

Be mindful of where you're going, the coins only give so much time! You'll have to rush to regenerate energy to earn coins (i'm sure some lore could be made up to explain that one!). You wouldn't want to get stuck in front of an enemy when your character needs more energy, right?!
5 stages is all there is, but the final stage is the most difficult and I don't expect anyone to get through it. Plus it's a prototype!
*Have fun!*

The terrain graphics, were for my opinion, acceptable.
I really like the idea of body swapping to "upgrade" yourself, but I wasn't able to do it very often due to the difficulty. I'm not sure if I was playing wrong?
Running out of power and having to play a little mini-game (albeit just simple tapping) is a really interesting mechanic though!
I wish I could shoot in the direction of my mouse, as it made it much harder to avoid and aim at the same time, but maybe this was in order to make it harder.
Thanks for sharing your game!
@schmavery Great job! I haven't even been able to do that :joy:. I considered that mechanic with shooting in the direction of the mouse, but unfortunately the way I programmed it made it difficult to shoehorn that idea in later in the game jam. This is just a lesson learned for me, I need to have my design more well thought out before I start writing code.
@sherlock527 I must've gotten lazy and forgot to make sure the generation point for the bullet was in the center. Thanks for pointing it out.
Glad you all enjoyed it
If it was a little easier to start with and maybe ramps up to super hard (if that is the point of the game)
I think id enjoy it a lot more
Good job anyway :)
