Outer Reach A slightly different take on the theme than most, we felt small world could mean loneliness. The game is about a character embarks on a journey with most of humanity to venture from a dying Earth to find a new home for humanity, when disaster strikes and everything changes. It might not be much. But this was my first Jam. And we are pleased with the product.

Well that was a creepy ending haha. I was going to say, hey, this game has no point, but I guess that might be the point. One thing I'd definitely suggest is to make the dialog boxes click-to-continue instead of wait-to-go-away, it was frustrating waiting for the boxes to go away. Also, the player doesn't need to see "PAL, what can you tell me about this planet?" each time you click 'inspect', which combined with the dialog box thing makes the game slow to play.

Time constraints considered, it might have been better for there to be a bit more "game" in there as well, like some really simple resource management. Maybe you guys had some other ideas but ran out of time though. I understand. Really interesting concept and nice creepy atmosphere. Keep it up!

@wheffle It isn't the best I could make. I had a 12 hour shift at my job right in the middle of Saturday so sadly time wasn't on my side. It was our first Jam. The only thing I can do it try harder and do better next time. I wanted to make something better but sadly time.

Somewhat strange looking. But I like that this is not a platformer or 3D arcade with planets, there are a lot of them. Well done that came up with something of your own!

@alexandr-rum Thanks for playing it. There was so much I wanted to do with it. But time restraints killed me.

- the best part of this game is the beginning of screen I loved it saying "Made for ludumdare 38 made with unity"
- You must have an option to click a button to go to the next dialogue box.
- sound i so feel like you are an astronault
- i visited all 30 planets anf my game is over hehe

1) Thanks I thought it would be nice

2)That was something I was going to add but ran out of time and energy to work.

3)Same as 2

4) I thought having some kind of end game would be good.

Crap. Sorry. My Linux laptop crapped the bed last month and haven't got a chance to side load for testing. Sorry about that

You need to rate way more games if you want to end up being ranked. Currently you have rated 7 games and you need to rate 20+ ideally ~30.

If you want more ratings **YOU NEED TO RATE MORE GAMES**. You have only rated 7, you probably need to rate 25+ games if you want a rating.

Just like @bog13 mentioned I also got stuck on the main menu on the Linux build as clicking the buttons don't work.

I found this one to be pretty interesting. Something about it reminded me of the simple fun I had making space games that got me so into Unity in the first place. It's a shame you ran out of time before you could add in more playable elements, but striking the right balance with how much time you spend on what is exactly the sort of thing you'll improve on as you do more jams!

I'd like to offer a few points of critique that stood out for me:
- When making title text, always consider the background! I think light-coloured text would work better here.
- Whack up the resolution/tiling of the starfield by a few factors, I think it'd make a big difference
- I didn't notice if there was already, but a slight randomisation on even simple elements can add a lot of replayability.

Anyway, good luck with future games! =)

@novodantis
I did try to add a little bit of randomness when visiting new planets as well as the Planet Designations

I did realize that. Today was my first day off work in the last 2 weeks. So I did finally get a chance to play a ton of great games and rate them.

Cool! The intro cutscene is really well done, 5 stars for mood there. I appreciate the mass effect/2001 references too :) Really effective sound design as well. As others have said, making the dialogue boxes faster/skippable would make the game feel a lot better I think. Still it was a cool experience. Nice work!

It's interesting, even though I don't like this long long conversations. I really like the idea, graphics and sounds.

I got sick of not being able to click through text, so I clicked Next Planet until I got to the end. Pretty crazy ending. It's interesting seeing games that go for a purely narrative angle in a Game Jam.

I really like the models for the spaceships.

Wow. The scale in the intro is amazing! I aborted on about planet 21. Then read the comments and went back through to 30-31- well, you know. I recommend you check out Visionaire Studio if you haven't had a look. It has a slick dialogue system you might find really useful if you were to try another go at this game type! Congrats on your first jam!

One tip: REMOVE REFLECTIONS FROM SHADERS!!!!!
It causes some pink/purple sh*t on objects (planets)
I had to deal with that too, and it can break any game...

Besides that, its awesome game! Continue doing more! And check mine ;)
