Shrink by Sinan Kozak

[raw]
made by Sinan Kozak for LD 42 (JAM)

First Ludum Dare for me, I am happy to have at least a playable game.

Shrink; don't let outer barriers to shrink you Square. You can only destroy outer barriers when they touch square.

I would appreciate all kinds of feedback.

Thanks

Great idea for a mobile game! You should continue developing this game with some simple art and it could be very addictive.

Pretty fun, though you should punish people for just spam-clicking.

I agree with @juanj7. This concept would make a great mobile game with just a little more work.

Though, the game can lose its "difficulty" if you just spam the Mouse. It also lacks audio which would be very nice to have. Something that would indicate that you destroyed the outer barrier other than the number. Also some BGM would be a nice touch. Anyways, interesting way to view the theme!

Nice entry. I had fun playing it! Good job.

Welcome to the community! And congratulations on finishing your first jam game! :)

Very simple but interesting mechanic! I think you should punish the player for spam-clicking though. I got to about 38 just with spam-clicking, and I don't think I'd do any better if I practiced... It could be a nice start for a mobile game though, if you think through the mechanic again and maybe add some fancy particles and "bonus boxes" or something :P
Otherwise, solid entry, everything worked fine in the browser (just the "game over" text was cut off at the top). Good job, see you next time hopefully! :)

Great job for your first Jam. Definitely need to do away with spam clicking, take this concept and run with some other ideas. graphics were basic, but they worked for your game.

A nice simple concept that can definitely be entrancing. It reminds me of a few other mobile games I've seen, but
hey it's super effective! Music and art would add, of course, but this is a great reminder that games don't have to be complex to be fun. Nice work!

Simple but still working game, expecially for a mobile one. This game reminds me of Slack.

Cool idea, indeed seems very fitting for a mobile game. Spam-clicking is the easiest way to not immediately lose. Good work!

I like the concept, but it did end up just being a click-as-fast-as-you-can game with no end. But the coding is nice and smooth, and the colors make it visually pleasing. Maybe the borders can start huge and get thinner? Overall good job!

Simple and fun ; you should add some powerups (temporary tap-bonuses) to re-grow your square!

This is great, the new flappy birds, you have to click exactly right or you drown. It might be nice if the square regains a liiiittle bit of size the longer you play, so that it does not only go one way and you have more time / fun playing.
You should definately make a mobile game out of that!!!
