@kunonooni Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed my game and thank you for the feedback. Yes that's correct I had to cut music because of time and because I don't know how to make good music. I did consider a menu between levels that would wait until you clicked. I thought it would slow down the gameplay too much and seem out of place so I cut the idea, but I like your suggestion of a transition which wouldn't stop the gameplay but would slow it down for players to recover. Thanks!
@red-iron Thanks :).
@wejna Thanks. Yes I'll definitely be adding sound effects when I polish the game. I have heard that the controls are a bit tricky at first. I think Ill change the controls so that you press 1 button to change between the colors, similar to how you rotate a shape in Tetris.
Liked the game! It took me a while to figure it out but it was actually fun to figure out how it works, with the tiles disappearing every time you miss the match. The tile you needs to match also moves just before the turn giving you a bit more time to get ready with the key to press, making the game a bit more predictable and fun. Also really nice touch that you mapped the colors to keys that kind of made sense (R=red, W=white, Q=cyan, E=yellow). Once I figured that out, it made the game much easier, so I really felt like I was gaining skill!
Now some things I didn't like:
1) For some reason the Q button (for cyan) wasn't 100% responsive for me - many times I pressed Q and it did not respond by changing the color. No idea why.
1) The game only becomes harder once you start losing. Because I got so good at the game once I figured out the tricks with the mnemonics and the pieces moving, I was playing for quite a while without losing any rectangles and the game continued at very slow and easy speed. Would be nice if as you gain more points the game would get harder/faster even if you don't miss a match. Also would be nice if there was a clear goal (e.g., - get to 15,000 points) so I would feel more motivated to continue.
In any case, really enjoyed your entry! Thank you for submitting!
Thanks.
@mowztouch Thanks.
