Cursed Princess by Unentokku

[raw]
made by Unentokku for LD 41 (JAM)

A cursed princess must travel the world to recruit friends and maybe find a way to cure her curse and save the world from demons. Idea was to combine survival game with a dating-sim but I'm not sure if it's really either of those things.

I enjoyed this! It felt a lot like a solid resource-management simulation in that my decisions had a pretty tangible impact. Well done.

That was a cute little game with pretty nice backstory. Resource management was pretty fun, you really had to watch your stats to not get yourself in the corner. Although it might be a good idea to disable options that will insta kill you, like i accidentally clicked 'walk' instead of being carried and i ran out of mana. Still it's a pretty fun game for couple minutes, well done!

I really appreciate there was a story created for a marathon game. The gameplay was cute but for some reason it did not really click with me. Maybe there was not enough choices to make or some choices you made felt not too impactful.

Still a good game for a marathon!

Fun game! I had to laugh with the art and sentences, nicely done!

The game is charming and has mad potential, it just falls short in the amount of choices, variety in dialogue and the length is excessive. If the story was cut short but the dialogue was expanded and relationships between the npcs was further developed, this could be a gem of a game. It would also help to add music and sound effects!

Good effort!

This turned out to be a lot deeper than I initially thought it would be - It's not really my genre of choice, but it sucked me in and I ended up playing for a good 20 minutes! Well done.

Dude why there should be someone who needs to carry me all the time :D I walked once and then died :( nice game, I really enjoyed it!

Interesting game. :) At first it seemed to be just a tiny and rather unpolished game but it turned out to be a really rather interesting experience. I admit I really like the artstyle! I guess the naive yet consistent look just works for me. Great work! <3

@Zeriver that is why I made sure to list the costs of that but the fact that you can compensate for lacking stamina with mana meant that making it check it was complex enough that I didn't think to actually not provide the option when I was preventing other actions killing you.

@Nash I wonder if knowing that there's a hidden love stat which most actions have an effect on would have helped, also I suppose starting with just 2 party members could be boring(I dropped it from 3 since it fit better with how I first wanted recruiting to work but later when I changed to just 1 recruit per location I could have increased it back to 3). But yeah having more choices would still be nice, at least I wanted there to be lot more happening when you reach a location and I think adding 1 more phase to camp scene could be nice. Also could be that the fact that I wanted you to feel like you aren't the one doing anything just wasn't to your liking.

The concept was nice, and the dating sim elements show in the text when meeting them, while it is a bit brief. It would have been nice if there was more interaction with the characters, but the little interaction and story it had was nice. It was a bit hard balancing the stamina of everyone and the mana, but figured it out after a few game over's.

I had fun exploring the different places, and It was cool that one could get so many different characters in the party. There was quite a variety with different roles they had, which was nice. Almost like having a reverse harem at some point XD

Overall I think it is quite a nice game you made and I liked it : )

I love this type of games. Reminded me a bit of The Banner Saga. I always appreciate when a game offers you choices, and you can alternate between your resources and allies. Like some said, it's all beautiful, dandy and fine here, but I would have loved some punishing or consequence for my actions. xD! Well done! 🐱

I totally loved this game. It was so unexpected, I thought it was gonna be one of these (too simple) games which are only telling a story but it turned out to be so intricate and actually difficult to beat :)

My recommendation is to add more alternatives to get supplies and money other than going to the city and mere chance, it will make things more interesting. And of course, adding music and sound effects will be a great emotional addition to this kind of game.

Great entry :)
