Mummys Day Massacre by SweatshopDev

[raw]
made by SweatshopDev for LD36 (JAM)
Synopsis:
2-4 bumbling archaeologists have stumbled into the wrong tomb and angered its sleeping inhabitants. It's been a long 4000 years and Mummy's cranky. Worse yet, it's Mummys Day and nobody thought to bring a Mummys Day Card!

Gameplay Instructions:
Interact with the sarcophagi to loot them for coins. Use the coloured switches on the ground to open/close doors. Raid the tomb and make it out alive. Trap your friends with the unstoppable mummy to get away with your plunder. Whoever makes it out with the most in two minutes is the winner!

Cool game, for some reason my frame rate is bad. Nice concept though, I think it would be a fun multiplayer game (if only I had friends)

Love the visual style, looks very pretty, good use of lighting, runs a little slowly on my machine sadly, love the maze game, looting concept, a bit like pac man, if pac man was indiana jones. The "trap" mechanic is also well implemented and a lot of thought has been put in to the level design with the trap interaction.
I think the lighting are sapping fps a bit for me? might be worth doing a build with the lighting baked in?
You guys have done a great job though, and this looks like a lot of fun with 4 people.

Sadly I was only able to play 1-player keyboard mode, but this was a super cool game. It felt very nostalgic to me and I can't pin-point why (may have been the pacman-esque gameplay). The only trouble I had with it was that the Mummy was way too fast; maybe if it couldn't smash doors, it would be more of an 'outsmart the mummy' tactical game?

We played your game on stream too, which you can view in here: https://www.twitch.tv/cantgetourname/v/87128748

Super fun game! I included it in my compilation video series of Ludum Dare 36 games specifically highlighting the Plymouth Game Dev community, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/D52bOrYl0Fg
