The pacing of the game is fantastic. When you start out it is a feeling of ease and as soon as you start getting 2 plants at once it becomes stressful, but not in a negative way. The first time I realized what a power up did it was super sweet to see everything go into the baskets.
Great job!

A critique: for a game that's about precise clicking, there's a lot of visual noise going on: it's hard to quickly pick up the right critter when the entire area is covered with particles from the last one.
All in all, though, an impressive game. Good job!
Great job! The high-score system makes everything even cooler!
Apart from that it feels like a very polished game, and very fun! Nicely done.
@Burgee i've quite enjoyed your ld38 and 39 entries and this was no different :D very neat tidy and clean game with solid mechanics and smooth gameplay :D very well done and quite enjoyable. Sound effects were CUTEE!!! and the art was just as cute. I hope the lil creatures I threw away didn't get hurt Q_Q
I wish it was possible to scoop up mass numbers of critters into the right basket - maybe a mechanic where adjacent critters of the same type will stick together?
Sometimes I found it difficult to choose the object I want to pick or I click one but wipe out more, but still pretty good experience when playing.

Gameplay-wise, at first when I played I considered it a clicking accuracy game so I was like "oh an Osu-ish game, this should be fun". After things piled up though, I finally realized mashing was the only effective tactic left for me so I just barreled through all the ink and controlled the pile with that + slapping things. It was a pretty unique experience and can only get better with more juice. Nice game, guys.
I liked the audio and the graphics, which give the game a nice and joyful atmosphere. :)
Oh, and on a side note, I like how all your three games on this LDjam site alliterate with C's. ^^

I'll try to see if I can track it down tonight, it must be a rare error because nobody else has been lucky enough to find it like you did.
Thanks for trying, I'll come check out your entry tonight anyhow!
It was great fun sorting out those bugs - You saw how stressed I was on stream :yum: I think you got what you wanted!
Adding the two mechanics of squashing and sorting was great - Although I think quite taxing when you try and squash the tree jellyfish and the other bugs get in the way lowering score, maybe make them instead scurry away with a slap and limit the amount you can do?
Things I would add to make the game more fun would be more powerups - I loved the barrel that came down and sucked them in but maybe another powerup that squashes jellies and one that groups a colour (all yellow, all flying dudes) together to a point of my choosing would make life abit easier for the common player and even make it abit more fun for the elite!
Thanks again! Great work!! :yum:
The art was just so cute, and the sounds too! Cuteness overload! Also, online rankings? Great work!
Maybe needs some more power-ups, but other than that it's a really solid entry, great work. Congratulations :)
