  • Power ups are functional

Bug Fixes in the works:

  • Coin location randomizing glitch

I’m 13 and this is my third Ludum Dare. I had a chest surgery in the beginning of August and, although I shouldn’t, I spent late nights putting this project together. Had a blast and hope you enjoy playing my game as much as I did making it

Seems to be stuck on a black screen when I press enter on the main menu.

Let me know when it's fixed and I'd love to play it!

I had the same problem as @kippllo .
Windows 10 with Chrome
Tried with Firefox

No VCARD (it's a laptop with the moba integrated vcard shipped with intel core i5 7th gen)

Maybe my spec can help you to fix the bug :)

@andrew-friedman @memel06 @kippllo I will put a compressed zip folder of the game so you can unzip and play it. I will look into this problem. I wonder what it could be since the main menu seems to load for everyone.

@andrew-friedman I am wondering, I have an nvidia card do you have integrated graphics or amd. I am thinking the error is the post processing. I can add a toggle but I need someone to help test it

@andrew-friedman @kippllo @memel06 I think I got it. Dithering! Dithering was on. I turned it off just need to update it. I had two post processing profiles and one had dithering. I hope this fixes it.

The theme was explored simply, but quite fun. I loved the Atari like style.

Ha, simple game simple style. Nice casual game. You can add physics to the main player to give game a bit of twist rather than plane movements. Audio will definitely help.

I really love simple atari style <3 One a little bit irritating thing for me is too flowing character movement, but otherwise game is really nice. Keep it up!

That title screen music is hypnotic in a creepy weird 70s sci-fi kind of way. I really liked it.

Game is fun and simple too! It's hard to catch how many points you ended with though, would be cool if it showed you your score upon death or your high score or something. Nice work!

Nice simple game! The shade of green used was a little hard on my eyes, but that's the only substantial complaint I had. Works great with the theme. Nice entry!

Very enjoyable as a casual game! Don't really have any feedback past agreeing with the above on adding a high score and maybe expanding the different kinds of dots a bit! Good job for a 48 hour game!

I rather liked this! I wasn't very good but i played several times. I liked how when you died you just jumped right into a new game. Gave me the drive to keep trying. Might of been nice if your player flashed or something when the bonus was about to run out. Sometimes 5 seconds seemed like forever other times like it was no time as all and almost always when I was near a wall it would go away :)

Very well executed. Instant re-spawn was a great choice for this type of game. Did you intentionally make the controls a little float-y to add challenge? Great job.

I played the webGL version and the player movement was really sluggish, like the framerate was low or something. Fix the sluggish movement, add a high score that's preserved between sessions, and voila you have a really nice simple, fun to play, and a bit addicting game.

Good work!

Great game, with a simple but really polished mechanic that entirely fits the theme

Pros :
- Delightful retro aesthetic, with that nice "weird RGB colors" shader
- Crystal-clear goal and controls
- Discovering the powerups is a joy
- Nice audio feedback

Cons :
- Steep difficulty curve because of the movement physics and the accurate hitboxes
- Having the current best score displayed would be nice

All in all, excellent work !

Cool game, fits the theme well, although very simple. Congrats on third LD when so young. My first LD was LD 40 as well. It's great to see someone so young doing game dev in such a professional manor. Im only 18 but when I was 13 I was still just messing around and not finishing games since I really didn't know how to code.

The blue powerup which shrinks you can catch you off guard when you resize to larger since there is no warning when you resize and you could be close to the wall when you resize and then instantly die.

The green death wall hit box or maybe the player hitbox seems to be off. When i go near a wall the visual sprites shows there is still distance but I die. A good practice is adding some wiggle room, make the wall hitbox slightly smaller than the visual so players feel it's more fair.

The deceleration of the player seems to slow as I release the key but keep moving, this usually results in a death if i'm trying to be close to the wall. Maybe a personal thing but I prefer a more reactive control.

Great job!

Cool game, reminds me of Bit.Trip Void (I'm a fan of the Bit.Trip saga). The things I'd criticize were already said by the others: a high score would be nice :)

This is very nice and simple entry. I think that your attempt to do the Atari vibe is very good, the only thing I was missing perhaps, is some final score show-down after you fail. Because sometime I wasn't able to track what was my high score. It is fine to push it towards the theme, and you do that great, but since there is a score I think, it would be nice to track it. Here is my TOP so far :) Great job! ![high_score.png](///raw/cff/11/z/1a174.png)

Good arcade-style fun! The two things that I feel are missing are music (but not having it is true to the Atari feel!) and a game over screen - being able to see your final score and a high score would really complete this package.
