SOBA, aka Singleplayer Offline Battle Arena, is a game I put together as single person in 2 evenings for Ludum Dare.

You will take control of gargoyle statue with various abilities - Fireball, Bomb, Drain and Nuke - which you can cast upon your enemies and destroy them. To properly incorporate the topic, you have to use your life as a currency in this game to cast your abilities and pay the price permanently to upgrade your abilities.

The game is very simple - both players (you and enemy) automatically spawn minions that go against each other. You have advantage of controlling a hero to destroy your enemy and win the game.

Press right mouse button to move, upgrade abilities with clicking the plus button (every now and then you get point to upgrade), and then use left mouse button to select and cast, or QWER shortcuts to select and cast. Pressing L will lock and unlock your camera to hero.

I hope you will enjoy the game, I enjoyed making it.

...

This time I wanted to try implementing movement, navigation and basic AI mechanics for MOBA like game - sadly this is quite a challenge in 72 hours (which in reality is less than 24 when you have family and work).

Due to this, even though I did make some parts of graphics myself, I also used numerous assets (which made the game file grow a lot) - and there is still many more missing (animations, better effects, etc.). To keep it fair - I'm therefore opting out of categories Graphics and Audio (and Humor - as it has no point in this game).

There will eventually be post-jam release which will shrink the file size.

The concept is interesting but it is not dynamic like a moba, for example. You need to click on the +, then press the button and then cast the spell. And after that, the spell is not selected. It would be interesting to set up a standard attack to be more dynamic.

@firtage It should work, you probably hit the moment when the file was still uploading.

@gabrielgamedev You're pretty much right, the concept itself is too big to be finished properly in evenings by just me. Thanks for trying it out!

Vilem, Vilem... why try such a GIGANTIC project every time? :) What a shame this time, so much potential, so little finish. Also, it runs pretty slow on my Radeon R7 370 @ 1920x1080 and you killed the quality settings. Good luck next time and SCOPE **DOWN** :)
