Max fps racing by superchihuahua

[raw]
made by superchihuahua for LD 39 (JAM)

The world is running out of power. We are running out of trees, oil, coal, wind, and even the sun will die. Everyone, including we gamers, have to do our part and save as much power as possible by cutting back on graphics.

The game was made during 48 hours because the first 24 hours were wasted on a bad idea! There's also a known bug where one of the cars sometimes teleport to a position in front of the player. The path could also have been a little smoother because it's currently a rough ride at some places.

I love it! I really like how the AI behaves, I was able to spin one out and create a pileup on my first lap. My only suggestion would be maybe some drifting and minimalist wheel trails and I could play this for hours.

I like the minimalistic graphics (and hence Max FPS, haha!), though I'd have loved to see some sound effects. As a racing game though it functions as expected!

I really enjoyed the simplistic art style. However, when there were a lot of lines overlapping in the distance, it was a little confusing. Good job on the AI.

Loved your take on the theme that plays nice with the graphics, less is definitely more here. The AI is great, but still can't beat that green car without crashing. Had a lot of fun with this and with the shorter time you did a great job!

Nice concept, wasn't really engaging without sounds though

I love the minimalist aesthetic, really shows how much you can achieve with so little. The driving felt fine but I think it would have been better if it were smoother (the car kept bouncing up and down for me). Some sound effects and music would do great. Awesome job!

Humor.
I am leaving this one not rated, because no humor.

Innovation
It's just a standard racing game. 3/5.

Graphics.
Very cool style, I love it. 5/5.

Theme.
It doesn't follow the theme at all, just a racing game without fuel so you never run out of power. 1/5

Fun.
I enjoy racing game, was fun. 4/5.

Mood.
Not sure how to rate this one, but it gave me a very relaxed chill mood. 3/5.

Overall was fun, would have liked car noises, I think thats whats missing, can't have a racing game without car noises.

Cool aesthetics, and a good racing game. The controls were a bit jumpy at times but not too bad. The difficulty I think was just right (at least for me). Some sounds would make a huge difference I think - some engine sounds and a nice simple electronic musicloop.

This is weeeeeird and trippy. It's really basic, the controls are weird and not really responsive, and the AI is incredibly dumb, but I really had fun playing this game. At first I though there where no connection with the theme, then I understood and I thinks it's funny and clever. Good job !

I love the aesthetics ! I found the driving a bit too hard though, since entering into a wall stops you completely and makes you go the other way round. Good entry anyway !

the art style is really original but the gameplay laks dynamism. It's maybe subjective. Maybe adding sound could make the game feel more dynamic. A strange thing I noticed is that the car shake up and down a lot at some place of the track.

Nice, making a 3D racing game in such a short time is very ambitious and it turned out pretty well! Loved how you interpreted the theme, I'm sure we can save the planet by burning less watts on our GPUs. :) It was sorely missing some audio, at least some engine noises though. Controls and the car physics are somewhat iffy but that's to be expected as these are very hard to get right even in brand name games. Nice job!
