Baby Shrimp by Maskrosen
Have you ever dreamt of having a pet baby shrimp? You said yes, didn’t you? Well, today is your lucky day! Take care of your new-found best buddy by feeding him and handing him his favourite toy. As we all know baby shrimps poops a lot, so don’t forget to keep the water nice and clean. But be careful not to make him exhausted from all the playing, too full or poison the water. Your friendship may not survive that. Also the baby shrimp will die.
Baby Shrimp is a virtual pet game combined with match three. Match three symbols to get the item your pet baby shrimp needs and keep the meters green. The difficulty increases over time so don’t sleep on it. Happy gaming!

How to play: Click on one of the symbols on the board and then click on another adjacent one to swap them. The swap only goes through if it would create a match of 3 or more of the same symbols vertically or horizontally. Match the symbols shown in the meters to keep the meters from going down too far. Just be careful to not fill them up too much.
This is our first time doing a Ludum Dare and we had so much fun! Next up we would like to add sound and polish the animations and game feel. Let us know what you think in the comments 🙂
Known bug: if there are no more moves you're stuck and you will lose when the meters go down.

According to the files, I assume that you used Java to make this game. Did you use JavaFX or a game framework? Just curious because I also used Java for my game.
I haven't seen a game requiring the JRE in awhile and like to use gamejams for new tech. I hadn't heard of libgdx, seems cool.
I would have liked a visual indicator that I selected an item. Furthermore, I twice missed my score because I accidently clicked too fast and started again - a personal highscore would be nice. I got till 354 later on. :)
Overall, well done! :shrimp: Congrats with your first LD game.
