LDPD-Blues by gilborn

[raw]
made by gilborn for LD 41 (JAM)

I tried to mix a realtime Top-Down shooter with a turn based movement. Sadly I ran out of time (and endurance), so there is no Ending, no second Level, no Compo and no Music :-/

But it is playable though!

The Gameplay consists of two phases:

1: Plannning Phase: Assign movement & select Weapons for Actionphase. - WASD / Cursor: Select path (4 Tiles of movement) - ESC: Reset path selection - 1...7: Select weapons for Action phase - SPACE: Starts Action phase (if 4 movement spaces are selected)

2: Action phase: Assigned movement is automatically resolved while you can shoot. - Shoot: Left Click - Aim: Mouse Curser - Once the movement is done it goes automatically back to the Planning Phase.

Sound FX: Bfxr

Engine: Unity

Drawings: GIMP

To Quit: Alt-F4.

Have fun (And don´t bring a knife to a gunfight ;-))

I really liked the design of this one
Wish the movement was faster so it feels more frantic when the real time starts
Also the ai seemed pretty basic but thats understandable
Otherwise I enjoyed it

I know you said you ran out of time to make more levels, but the great gameplay made me want to keep going. It's nice to see a shooter game that lets you take a break between shooting.

The game was quite fun and challenging, and I sad to see that you did not have enough time to add more levels, along with an ending. Hope it get expanded on

I thought the game was great, even if it's just one level. I feel it played really well : )
