i liked the sound... "wow wow wow" effect :). The concept is good. I feel that you should decrease difficulty level otherthan that everything is awesome.

the sound effects are original, the game is funny, the graphics are functional, maybe in the gameplay is repetitive.

Hahaha, hilarious! Your game has a lot of charm to it, and was quite a bit of fun. It was a bit difficult, scaling up the challange as time went on might have been a good idea, but great entry nonetheless!

@willops i planned to scale up difficulty as well as have levels/completion conditions per level but had to call it done sat night so some things were rushed.... eeeeeek

That was fun! I enjoyed the difficulty and it felt polished. I didn't find any issues, and it all worked as I'd expect. It felt clean.

JFYI, only white screen after I press the "play" button. I try to play in Safari under macOS. Other Unity-based​ games work​ in my config.

Love the song and the cheap sound effects, except for the wubwubwubwubwub which is really annoying. Also not sure why I should collect spoons.

I loved it! Especially the rusty spoons. I got 88000 points, is that good? I liked the references to Saladfingers. Just be careful when making an homage to another brand, that it looks a lot different, so it will not be a copy of the design. In-game it was not a problem, but your cover looks a lot like the real Saladfingers. Overall nice game, fun sfx and music!

Salad fingers the video game. I liked the idea and played way more than I thought to your game. I just loved the general aestetic of your game: it's really cheap but it makes it extremely charming. The song is nice. The sound when you get arround does get annoying after a while. Nice job on this entry.

I wanted to give up multiple times, but I stayed for the music. The song was really catchy and fun, I couldn't stop listening to it (I'm thinking about listening to it even tomorrow at work, because I totally love it).
And I love Salad Fingers, I loved the atmosphere you created, I smiled at rusty spoons... great job. It may be an average game for some, but for me, it was a very special game (and I'm still smiling while writing this). Thank you for creating this!

Heh, I liked salad fingers back in the day, gameplay was quite enjoyable, nice to have controls that only need one hand for once! music/sound worked well too

OMG, had so much fun playing this. The spoken effects were really neat and on point, like some voice out of the head of the character and the background music adds up as well. Simple and on point.

Hahaha, is this a salad fingers inspired game? Cool entry, the mechanics were simplistic but interesting. Initially I found the sound effects annoying, but they kinda grew on me as I kept playing. Cool that you recorded a dedicated song for it, although the overall audio did not fit together with eachother. The graphics were very simplistic, but what can you expect when you have 48h to finish a game.

This took me by surprise! That tune is so good - kept me playing just to hear the next bit and the next bit. Kinda Thomas Was Alone-y? Just like here's a game that's pretty neat but you care more about the tiny goofy character because you get this strangely sweet and poignant insight into his life through the music. The gameplay was good as well! Kept me engaged, super on-theme - good increase of difficulty and suspense as the floor crumbled but hey the hail mary jump ability got me out of a few times I thought I was done for. Really nice game dude.

@gimbalock while (programmerSkill > artistLvl){ FindAttainableArtStyle(); } so the salad fingers reference came in pretty late into the game when I was trying to determine a way to make it somewhat pleasing to look at.. after I made the eyeballs on the character, and made him do the crosseye stuff I noticed the resemblance to good old salad fingers... Then feeling the game needed something other than missiles and projectiles to encourage the player to move about I decided to go a bit further down the salady finger like wormhole with the rusty spoons... Honestly, if David Firth *AHEM* where to see this, even if to just get upset about the reference, I would be tickled... always been a big fan of his works.

I would love to see someone beat it XD.... anything above 30,000 or so is respectable...

The music is great lol. I was surprised at how much fun I had with this, there didn't seem like there would be a lot of depth but the jumping adds a lot of skill

Then humour was there. I kinda wish I wasn't playing snake, so I could have focused on the song instead. :)

My first thought when i saw your blog post was.. this looks like Salad Fingers.. And i was not disappointed! I enjoyed this so much for some reason. I think the audio is the biggest factor in that. The song was amazing. and as a fan of the Salad Fingers series I think it captured the feel of the character pretty well.

game play wise I found it surprisingly challenging. The board is just large enough that if you don't pay close attention to where you have been you can set yourself on a path that you may not be able to escape from because you either cut it off or the missiles might have destroyed your path.

It is fun to explore the scoring mechanism.

The song and the voice-made sound effects went perfectly together ^^ One of the funniest entries I played so far !

@halfmule Its funny the scoring mechanic was created after i realized i needed to finish what i had... I had gotten the movement almost to the point where i wanted it and and tried to push the player around the playspace, but it lacked purpose...

....anywho... Scoring explained

-each consecutive tile is worth its combo value
-there is a 1.5x for on one edge, 2x for edges on both sides
-for each rusty spoon you get an additional xNumSpoons

.... there is some serious potential to get an obscenely high score, my current best is around 425,000...There is some serious route optimization stuff to consider... prioritizing those spoons without breaking the connected areas can be super strategic.... eeeeeeek, i'm getting myself all excited.... wish I had implemented a global high scores.. would love to hear what people are getting!

@masterkrepta there are so many things I would have liked to adjust, its hard to say which one bugs me the most, but I wish I had adjusted the missile a bit, it can feel a bit obnoxious. anywho, glad you enjoyed it XD

@scottyseus The jumping mechanic does add a lot of interesting situations. some points where you think you are totally screwed but you make these crazy leaps out of there... The current scoring mechanism punishes jumping soo badly, and it bums me a little... I had planed to add a bonus for jumping over large gaps/obstacles multiplier to counteract being punished by breaking up the tile combo... But you know, time and all....

Lol those sounds effects. Game feels like snake on drugs. Nice game :D

Excellent little arcade game! I loved the minimalist graphic style and the sounds made with the mouth! I think some visual feedbacks would make this game even better although the gameplay is already working very well! Great job! :)

@acuriosity yeah i eventually just started making 'islands' and seeing if i could land on them - if you ever come back to working on this game, that is something that would be nice to reward in the scoring

Really liked this, the song is good and the sound effects are pretty damn funny, the art style is lovely and it is very well balanced and low key addictive, kept playing it to see if i could do better haha. Overall very nice and you should be proud!

Really good game, spent quite some time before reaching the 500 000 points ( which was my objective after reading the comment xD , i was around 515 000 :p )

The audio is really great ^^

The only cons i found was that spoons could spawn above the void, and they aren't reset after a death ( they don't despawn ). Also, a little visual effect before that the spoon disseapears would be cool, cause it's hard to reach them, and it's frustrating to see them dissapear in front of you xD

Nice and simple game. I enjoyed playing it. Feedback: It would be nice to wait a little bit when player failed (to be able to make note of score). ;) Or wait for some key to continue... Very good job!

This is a really fun game! The gameplay is simple but the different things that alter the game like the circular saws and the missiles made it very fun to play!

I also really appreciate that you made the music looping even when you retried, it made it easier to continue playing for a long time without getting bored, and it allowed me to listen to more of that awesome soundtrack!
