Hello,

This is our first game jam, we are two students in first year game design school.

The idea is a musical infiltation (noise versus quietness).

In this game you play Nobu, a modern ninja, we want to get in the museum to steal the famous golden katana. For this burglary, he will use his new stuff... a synthesizer who can hypnotize people.

the more you play well the more the security guys will let you go easy. But paye attention at the laser detectors or you will be spotted !!

So you have to combine rythm and jump ability to be a real ninja !

Thanking : thank to "AudioNautix" for his free music "The voyage" which gave us this night vibes.

Thanks for playing.

Enjoy !

We need you to vote and give us some feedbacks...

Great title. Headphone blaster though. You have to becareful about you audio. Never play loudsounds suddenly. Also, the game is a bit confusing. I couldn't understand how to play because I got detected even when I managed to get all colours. Apart from that, great game!

You are right, we are quite new and we have a lot to do :D

- its almost impossible for me to look at the character for lasers and the strings at the same time, so I found the most effective strategy to be to just hold down space all the time.
- the buttons we need to press are not correlated to the background music. for a rhythm based game that is kind of bad unfortunately :/
- I like the unfitting combination (playing music to sneak) but would have liked the sneaking part to be reflected in the gameplay somehow.

In fact we wanted this game to be hard between the two screen and to be more into the theme.
For the RGB key the have been chose to be kinf of "comfortable" and intuitives for the player.
And we did not have time for much feedBack like lasers.

Thank you very much for feeback guys :)

I thought this was a great game to kill lots of time! The theme was perfect and original it seemed. Ofc with more time the graphics would improve but overall great!

Good title and music. I think I would show notes higher or lasers lower - it's hard to coordinate if you don't have a squint

Found a glitch. You can hold down R,G and B, and You will hit every note.

This game needs to change how lasers look. Its very hard to see the lasers.

Loved the music, and the idea was original

I had to check this out since your game title sounds so similar to mine . This is a great idea, quite original in the context of the jam. Graphically elements work really well together. The game is rather linear as it is, which is fine but I would like to see the buttons turned into real music with rhythm rather than just buttons to press. Overall a very good effort, keep making games!

Really unique concept! Was intuitive and easy to pickup. Might need a little more time to bake on matching the rhythm elements with the audio, but overall pretty solid!

Mind checking out my compo game?

I Won!

Really great game, guys! You should be proud.

I found the gameplay fun and challenging, but not frustrating. The art was excellent as well!

My biggest suggestions are: First, adjust the rhythm notes to actually fall in time with the backing track. It's a subtle change you can make that will make the ambiance of the game flow a lot better. Second, the 'r' 'g' and 'b' keys are in an odd position on the keyboard, and it was difficult for me to press them all at once. I recommend you adjust the keys to be three keys in a row, such as 'a' 's' 'd' or the 'left' 'down' 'right' arrow keys.

Congrats on your first game jam!

I love the concept of a music rhythm stealth game. I think that one came up in our brainstorming sesison, but we couldn't figure out how to make it work. Great concept, guys!
I think the thing that hurts your game the most is the way you've layed out cues to the player. At first, I had trouble getting the hang of the r, g, b, space layout, but I turned my keyboard sideways (like a guitar XD) and it was quite comfortable.

If you decide to do any refining of this game, I'd suggest taking a look at the screen layout, and maybe some additional audio cues:
The player needs some sort of indication that a laser grid is coming up. You *could* add a cross bar on the rhythm section, but that would mean the player would never look back and forth between the two areas (and it looks like you *wanted* that interraction). Another thing you could do is add an audio cue, make sure that 'jump' is timed with the music, and there is something that plays when you should hit space. A player might take a small penalty if they hear the cue and jump late, they can decide to watch the upper screen to anticipate, or they could learn the rhythm on repeated playthroughs.

Great job finishing your first game jam! You should count that as a big success! Most first time teams don't pull off a working game.

Hi,
I have to agree with others here that the rhythm to play should be synchronized to the music. That way you could make the game a lot more difficult, so players would have to learn the rhythm and play it subconsciously ("musically") while still having to concentrate on the jumps.

Wow really nice graphics and audio, it worked perfectly and I had a really fun experience playing your game. It's pretty well polished with a start screen and credits, and it's good that it works in the browser.

Good job guys !

Nice concept. The game its a bit easy, and could have some more elements, or a few items to pick up...but...only 72hours, i know.. i wish we had more time, lol, and...first year right? I'm not a professional in gamedev, but i think you guys are in right path. keep going!!!

Definitely hard to play - it was difficult to pick which part of the screen to focus on, but that made it all the more hilarious and fun!

Good job on the game guys! I saw that you guys used audio from AudioNautix, I suggest to opt out of the audio reviews.

The theme of an rhytm stealth game is quite interesting and u guys did an interesting take on it. However there were some down points. It's hard for a player to feel the stealth part of the game. Maybe make it more opposite, that you make loud noise so that the police need to stop moving?

Good job for the first game! Work hard and you'll get better fast!

Nice idea and fun music. I understand using the keys R, G, and B for red, green, and blue but the keys were too far away for me to use effectively. I would have loved to be able to set them myself or use something a little more natural for my hands (though that mostly falls on preference). I actually think this idea could make a good game with some stuff fleshed out. Great entry!

Nice game, but I feel like it proves that these two genres are incompatible. I was never able to look at my character, as I was focused on the keys. The sound was nice, however I feel like it was kinda separate from the game's soundtrack. It is just too difficult the way it is now. I like the idea of this game though, and the overall presentation is quite great, the art and sprites look really cool!

I really enjoyed playing the game, it was fun.

As you have to divide the attention between the horizontal line in the upper right and the vertical line in the lower left corner, things get a little more difficult.

I wonder how the game could have a sequel. I got curious.

I enjoyed playing very much, once I'd figured out the game mechanic a bit! Very nice idea, and like many of these LD41 games it really tears your concentration in different directions (so may be useful as a stress inducer for psych testing!) Nice graphics! I agree with other comments about the RGB keys placement being a bit awkward. By the way I discovered that holding down all RGB keys except when jumping could get me to the WIN state :) Not sure if that is the intention? :) Great first LD effort and wish you all success in your future gamedev careers!
