Pinboy-an RPG+ Pinball game by Colleen9416
an RPG+ pinball game
This time, the ball in the pinball game becomes an adventurer. You will go to the Ludum Dare Kingdom. During the journey, you will complete some missions, to find the way to the castle, defeat the evil witch and save the princess...

Hey, guys. We have just finished a new version of our game. Here are the changelogs.
-add new animation for the ball when taken damage
-add new animation for the ball when reborn
-add new animation for the witch when casting spells
-add new animation in the stage when you get items
-fix the graphics bugs about the pedals
-re-design the position of the knights
-now all the knights will appear to protect the witch at the beginning
Thank you for your playing.

So hard to focus on the game cause the sounds made me laught so hard :p
Grahics are beautiful, and it's very fun to play.
I really enjoy playing your game.
The best compo I played on LD41 for the moment.
Ha, I saw a little issue :

Edit :
Why are you 2 people for a compo game ? @colleen9416 @sh-torrent
Congratulations!
I love your graphics and the sound effects!
only one thing, if the game pause when I am reading the dialogue, I think the gameplay will be smoother.
However, I am not sure is it one of your design, if it is, then that's also fine.
oh dang! I didn't realize that! I always skip the dialogue as fast as I can because I am afraid it will fall through it!
now I can enjoy the plot haha sorry about that🤣🤣
The elemental thing was a neat touch, but it was mostly useless imo.
About the sound: Hilarious.
Thank you for this game.
I would love to see a longer version of this game, it might be the best entry so far
It didn't prevent me from enjoying the adventure! The graphics are really cute, the sounds are... well. Quite funny even if it's not my cup of tea. I'll definitely try again to kill that final boss and see what happens after that!
The only thing that bothered me a little bit is the game physics, that could be a bit more realistic but I managed to finish it so it's nice.
I usually like pinball games, this time it was no different. A few minor points: The ball was sometimes super fast and would cross the screen in a matter of frames, I suggest adding some friction (also for the rotation, it was spinning like crazy). I would like to see some casting time and duration because those mirror things could easily eat up two lives because of bad timing (maybe it was there, but I didn't see it). At times I lost a heart, but I wasn't sure why, is the ice storm causing that? Finally the response time of the flippers seemed a bit low, but it could also just be me. But I have to admit that those points barely have an impact on the score, and I mostly mention them because I want to give you some points for improvment. Very well done!
__Innovation__
I'm not sure if there is much to innovate on the retro game of pinball, though I did like the little story that you guys created, with multiple levels. So You guys did a decent job on that.
__Theme__
I guess most (cool) pinball try to have some kind of story, so I'm not entirely sure if there were really two genres, definitely not incompatible ones. But like I said the story was really nice, much better than the average.
__Graphics__
I loved the clean graphics. They also worked really well with the pinball mechanics with hard lines around stuff that bounces back. Only point is that I'm personally not a fan of rotating pixel graphics, but a very minor point and easily forgiven in a jam.
__Audio__
I think the audio is really well done technically, personally I'm not a fan of the style because it gets repetitive for me quickly. But again, it's a jam and its not a big thing and I try to rate using my head and not my opinion.
__Humor__
I did like the little fetch quest. It was pretty funny. Also it fits the overall aesthetic of the game.
__Mood__
The game was really happy and it made me a bit happier too, so props for that.
__Overall__
I have nothing to add. In short I think this is a very solid Jam entry, well polished and fun to play.
Super adorable, silly, fun, and also super polished for a game jam game! VERY nice. I did find the music to be a bit repetitive after a while, but it was a good laugh and mood setter at the beginning!
That audio is definetly top notch, especially once the epic sax guy started to sound. 5/5 for everything. Worth it.
10 seconds later- HELL YEAH THE SOUNDS!!!
The graphics are super pleasant
the sound effects are just 100/10 best of the best i've heard amazing xD
very fun simple and enjoyable game, smooth and didn't find any bugs xD well done, had a great time playing it. Have nothing to advice on / suggest honestly, i think this is a great game overall
Btw, not sure if you've heard of it, but you should check out Rollers of the Realm, which was a fully-fledged game based on the "pinball + rpg" concept.

But, the graphics are amazing, sound is hilarious and it's a great take on the theme. I especially love the small touches put into everything, like the textbox being used to bounce the ball around while you are reading. The end music is also great too :) Great job!
