Hey folks,

About us:

We are a group of four students from Germany and this is our second LudumDare as a team. With this entry we mostly wanted to have fun and explore Javascript / Coffeescript (for two of us it was a start from scratch).

About the game

In this game you wake up in a bank with no recollection how you got there. But since you are already in it and short of money, it wouldn't hurt to get some money. But you are not alone in this building: There is a guard patrolling on each floor and you only have two distractions in your pocket. How much loot can you take to the top, where your escape helicopter is already waiting? But be warned, it is a long way up there and the more loot you take, the harder it will get to smuggle it out...

Controls

Hover to show descriptions, click to interact, scroll to zoom in or out. If you changed perspective, you may also press (basically) any key to exit.

Useful advice

  • Your PC needs a recent web browser.
  • Read the "How to play" to get more details on the mechanics, it takes about 2 minutes.

If you run into unexpected behaviour, please send us an extract of the web browser console.

So thanks for playing our game, we are looking forward to your feedback.

Patches

  • Expand "How to play" to include camera rooms
  • Fixed an issue that caused a few locks to be uncrackable
  • Add progress indicator while game is loading

I really enjoyed your game! I enjoyed how you layered in a lot of different elements such as sneaking around rooms, previewing them, being able to crack safes, etc. The audio set the mood quite well and overall it was a fun experience! Great work.

Solid entry! In a game of this scale, the minigame felt a bit disconnected from the rest of the game. I wonder if a mechanic for getting money that involved the tiles more would be more effective. I eventually understood how the lasers work, but I didn't seem to get the camera rooms to do anything. I thought the visual style was quite consistent and worked well.

Very interesting game, I loved the smooth camera zoom. The safe cracking was confusing though.

I ended up in jail. The safe cracking was really nice, goes very well with the game. I learned about scrolling a bit too late, maybe you can mention it as some helper text. Once that was out of the way, it was on!

The 2nd level I was so afraid of the guard that I just went up the next :D

It's a really cool game there ! Self explanatory, everything was fine. I would just loved to have more room types ! Otherwise, it's a solid entry !

Really neat concept! I especially liked the mood and audio, and the lighting really helped set the feeling. Very impressive for a jam game too! Well done!

I got stuck on one door room and the guard kept moving betwen my room and the only exit room (nooooo!)
Overall very well done, liked the concept that actions cost more the more gold you have.
Could easily be expanded for even more interesting gameplay elements :)

This game is really cool! The audio is awesome, I cracked a safe, the zooming between top down and 3rd person was cool, really nice work!

I like the concept. That was interesting and fun. The only thing I didnt clearly understand was the movement order. Anyway, well done guys!

Cool game! I really liked the turn based system for movement, the game felt really smooth. The perspective change was pretty neat for the first couple times until i accidentally clicked a door and i wasnt expecting the change. It can be pretty jarring to move back and forth over and over from top down and 3rd person OTS.

Great job!

I never knew a safe-cracking minigame alone could be so much fun, if theres anything to complain its that it wasn't immediately clear how to get out (and back) to the game after having zoomed into the safe and been done with it, turns out you can scroll to do get out, but would have been nice if you could click somewhere or something too!

Great work :D

Innovative game and quite enjoyable to learn how it works. Thanks for letting me play this on stream. Maybe the safes could be more obvious, as could the ability to click on the lazers. Good job you guys!

Good job on the entry! The camera movements are quite nice like other people have stated already. I didn't find much use for the camera rooms for how far I got though.

This game looks promising, but I just got 3 FPS (AMD 380 4GB, i5 2320, 8 GB RAM). Using Ubuntu 16.04 64 Bit, Chromium 62, open source drivers.

Cool game. But when I just got the clue how to unlock the safe, something went wrong with the pattern. Would love to hear more sound-work. Overall very enjoyable. Why did the hero fall asleep, and how come there's a helicopter waiting for him anyway?

Really cool idea! The action system was a little bit confusing, but exploring was fun and opening safes felt awesome. The laser rooms were a little annoying, there was no way to know they were there until it was too late. But overall it was really engaging and such a cool idea. Would love to see this more fleshed out!

@rohezal it seems that WebGL is only enabled for chrome/chromium on AMD cards if you use the proprietary drivers (https://www.khronos.org/webgl/wiki/BlacklistsAndWhitelists) maybe try another browser or try to disable the GPU blacklist in chromium.

Overall very well done game, but I had to point out some little issues. Not fan of the separate instruction manual, you could have included tutorial in gameplay somehow. Actions lack some sort feedback, getting caught by the guard didn’t feel that big of a deal as he just left. There is lot of text in game and sort of comes and goes, really hard to read. I liked the simple look of the game and how you could zoom in and out. You built a great atmosphere with lighting and sounds, good job!
