Greedy Leprechaun! [HTML5 Demo Link] by David Greene

[raw]
made by David Greene for LD 40 (COMPO)

You're the greediest leprechaun there is! Atop your cloud, collect all the gold coins for yourself, but beware, your cloud isn't the most stable cloud. The heavier you get, the harder it will be to balance your cloud.

So, thanks for checking out my submission! Unfortunately, I only had about 8 hours to work on the game this weekend so my leprechaun guy didn't quite make the cut. The rest of it is more or less as designed. Other ideas I had for this was to make it a bit more of a platformer game jumping from cloud to could, but I threw out that idea early on as I wanted to focus on a single arcade "high score" type of game.

Instead of trying to balance out, I played this game like a MAN and CURBED THE PLATFORM SO THAT ALL THE BONUSES ROLLED TOWARDS ME. It was working flawlessly until the platform reached a 90° angle. SCREW YOU PHYSICS!

Fun game! I tried out the idea that Adrien (above) had - and it completely backfired! :)

I would like to see this polished up, I think it has potential as a Flappy Bird-style coffee-break game. Nice work!!

This was really cool. I really enjoyed this mechanic, good job thinking of a great idea to fit the theme. At one point I just gained max weight and waited for balls to fall. Had fun, keep it up.

It was fun to play for a bit, but it feels really cut short. There doesn't seem to be a win condition, and you can survive for a really long time by playing near the fulcrum and tilting the platform to roll everything towards you.

Super interesting concept though, nice job for only 8 hours!

The concept is really fun and I love how it fit the jams theme. Very much enjoyed the game-play.
One thing; maybe put in a timer or something to show how long the Red square's effect went for (unless I'm blind and didn't see it :P ) Good job!

This is a pretty cool game :). I'd probably make it a bit harder though, because even if the cloud started tipping quite a lot, I could always just move back to the centre to restabilize everything. Maybe make the equilibrium a bit less stable?

Haha, nice idea for the theme! The mechanics are so good for only 8 hours. The seesaw could use some balancing, but beyond that, it's fun. Good job!
